Then technically he is correct as any amount of "suck" is greater than 0
But anywho, the story they told, it was just meh, whatever.
The cinematics, though, looked pretty bad.
Like, these were the pre-rendering and polishing versions and someone just said "nah, it's fine, no one will notice".
Kinda sums up how the entire expansion has felt; more or less an outline with no polish and they ran with it anyway.
Nathanos, has done less than Sylvanas arguably.
Tyrande: "Imma pop your top." *decapitates him*
Sylvanas, has done E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G
Try-ande: "I get to judge your fate, do Maw dailies till they stop popping and then be free lul."
Should've just executed her and make her revert to banshee/spirit form before saying "Shadowlands take you" or some shite instead of this pointless intermission.
Because for all purposes the Sylvanas that jumped into the maw is a completely 100% different person that did everything leading up to Shadowlands. The Banshee queen pretty much died once Zovaal shoved the soul into the body. As the soul even fractured as shown throughout Warcraft history (The big one being in wrath where the fractured Uther soul spoke freely to Jaina with full free will and having full agency) are their own beings with own viewpoints.
Sylvanas in the recent patch is either 1 of 2 things. A) A return to what she was before she was killed by Arthas or B) A new entity that holds the memories of both, much like Tuvix in the voyager episode.
Both options show how much they despise what the Banshee queen did and feel they have to be the one to atone for the actions of another entity entirely.
But that directly goes against the notion that Sylvanas was in control of her own actions. She wasn't, she was a different person with her soul split.
The notion she was in full control and responsible for her evil actions and she was a different person or personality because of the split soul don't match.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death
Which goes against what we already know in game in regards to other split souls.
It can't be rule 1 for person A and Rule 2 for person B.
Either Uther in Frostmourne never spoke to Jaina. (Which we see in game so it has to have happened) or Sylvanas is basically trying to play nice so everyone can move on.
It's not a real bird. It's a spirit animal. Would it be better to condemn a living person to watch over Danuser's waifu?
But don't peer to closely to this compromise ending they came up with. It's not really clear what Sylvanas IS - is she alive, as indicated by the vyrkul who sacrificed themselves to keep her alive on Azeroth? (who have been completely forgotten, I guess that was an Afrasiabi plot point.) Can she "die"? How was she able to walk the Maw, when it was so heckerino special that the player could? If she's not "dead", how would she survive in an area with no food nor water? How is she going to do anything with the lost souls, when all of her powers were from the jailer? Does she release them, or poke at them with a stick and tell them to go to Oribos?
See what I mean? So many questions - that will never be answered, because it's better if they just cut and run at this point. Danuser has done enough damage as it is.
If they don't announce his replacement before, during or right after the 10.0 reveal...well, we'll all have plenty to laugh at in the future, because Danuser has been a complete shitshow since he replaced the groper. I'm kind of all in for more years of laughing at that hack, he's the best entertainment around.
Anybody read the novel and able to say whether there is anything noteworthy in there?
She's doomed to spend eternity grinding the maw dailies and returning 20/20 lost souls. It truly is a fate worse than death.
How about a great reset? Fire all the current dogshit employees responsible for lore and let us continue from Wrath. Whenever one thinks that Shadowlands can't get any more cringe or worse, they manage to one-up themselves. Dear God almighty.
Hmm so Sylvanas is basically doing the Return Lost Souls covenant quest without weekly CD? Are there even any souls left?
Shadowlands released on November, 23rd 2020, thats 70 weeks with a (lets assume) 20 souls per week I have already rescued 1400 souls with each of my 15 characters. With nearly 20000 killed during Teldrassil.. well theres no one left to rescue. So who is she searching for? Nathanos?
The only time Garrosh wasn't consistent was with the Stonetalon Mountain questline in Cata... everything else about him was consistent.
With Sylvanas, they couldn't decide to make her evil or good and when she did a big bad like Teldrassil, they try to go out of their way to justify it. If they stuck with her being a villain to the bitter end, there would be less people to hate her and her character. She could've gone full 90s Disney Villain and people would still like her... but no, they have to include the forced redemption arc which has been done to death at this point and construct a scarecrow villain to push all the blame on to absolve Sylvanas's crime while also purposefully destroying lore all for the sake of this one character.
Tyrande is as fucking insufferable as ever.
