Just sayin'. I never use SW in any rotation, but when I have to move I use it. *shrugs*
"Moves from Mimiron lazor with 20% hp, SW, you die".

Usually moving in Ulduar involves having taken damage (since often you get at least 1 damage tick). It's very few fights where I find SW even remotely useful.

I don't agree with you there... I SW for Ignis flame jets and have 0 survivability issues. You can preemptively move out of Razorscale fire too, so the tick of fire damage isn't an issue.

I'm not saying I use SW every 12sec and as I stated I use it less and less now that my gear has reached a point that 2 MF ticks are closer to 1 SW in terms of execution time. But I don't agree you should completely remove it off your bars... like I said SW backlash helps squeeze a bit more out of berserking for me.

Yes, but if you SW and then get hit by a blue fireball, and perhaps wasn't at 100% hp, you die.

My point is that SW is definitive NOT SAFE to use on the majority of Ulduar encounters, especially not in progress raiding, where healers also have to learn the fight, and is unlikely to focus ever so much on you as ranged dps.

Shadow have a impressive survivability with Vampiric Embrace, and enough mana to keep up PW:S on ourselves for those fights where it's reasonable to do so (Razorscale is one).

I only healed Ignis, so can't talk about survivability there, but it's a very simple fights, so it don't surprise me.

But on a fight like Mimiron, I must say I never found a good time to use SW, as it was very intensive damage on the entire raid, and our healers were busy enough learning to move from missiles, and laser beams.

I used SW on Ignis after jets, but that 40k dmg trough the whole fight doesn't change much, it's better not to get pwned by swd and then put into slag pot. I also see no reason why to use swd, there's enough dps going on as is, that small extra bit that might kill you won't help you do the hard mode easier or anything of the sort. If it did more damage then yes, but it can really screw you up and I like to play it safe and have 10 dps less (if that much) by not using it.

Why do you keep throwing Mimiron's name out there? is that because you are trying to make yourself sound like a better raider? There is no point in that fight you should be taking Sooo much damage that you cant use SWD on movement?

Phase 1 - 0 damage unless you get hit by napalm shell, which is easily healed through.
Phase 2 - Rocket Strike, omg move 2 feet to the left. Laser Barrage, Omg move clockwise because he always turns clockwise. If you are getting hit by mines you're an idiot.
Phase 3 - you should take absolutely no damage unless you're tank misses a junkbot and you have to fade, or you are ranged tanking the boss (odds are you arent).
Phase 4 - All damage is really easy to heal through, and dont get hit by laser barrage. If you get hit by anything other than hand pulse, you're bad.

*after looking at your achievements i understand why drop that name so much... you haven't downed mimiron yet. LOL.

You missed the grouped raid damage throughout that entire phase, or does your guild simply do it with 17 healers so its not a problem?

Why would you group in that phase? spread out so not everyone takes damage, you should only have one person getting hit by the rapid burst. And we run with 4 healers, 5 max. 2 holy priests, 1 disc priest, a resto shaman. and if we need it we make a boomkin go resto.

Easier to heal if people group up. Different guilds, different tactics. Mimiron is a good example of a boss with heavy AoE (and my guild downed him the other day).

The thing is there's no point taking unnecessary damage if you can avoid it, especially for progress raiding. It's not the healers responsibility to heal damage I take from SW, they're busy doing other things.

The total amount of damage SW will give you is worth absolutely nothing.
