My PC Media player of choice is Foobar2000, it's got a clean interface, and it's easy to use.
As for a physical device, I have a 2gb iPod nano, not much but it gets the job done. Gonna try and save for the 160gb version pretty soon.

When on my computer, I generally use a mix of iTunes, Spotify and the Last.fm radio client/website.
I have a 16GB iPod Nano, but it looks like it's died completely noe :-[ I'm thinking about investing into an 80GB one, as I'm now close to owning 30GB music.
I pretty much always use Spotify to listen to music on my computer. I use VLC as media player, but it's mostly videos, as there's very little I have to go beyond Spotify to listen to.
For mobile devices, I have an 80GB iPod Classic, and also a Nokia cell phone with a Spotify app. Needless to say, the phone is seeing a lot more use right now than the iPod

iTunes to sync with my Pod, VLC to watch movies, and... That's pretty much it.
If I was a Blizz server technician, I'd hijack a server and use it to download porn 24/7. Guess why the instance servers always are full B]

I replaced the shuffle dropdown box with a volume bar, but left it untouched otherwise.
Winamp for audio, VLC or Media Player Classic/Real Alternative for video.
Media Player Classic for video files with a codec pack.
Winamp with a few addons for music.
Media player & i use an Archos 605 wifi 160gb for my music/movies on the go.

I use a Radio programme (i made in VB) that connects to Kiss 100 London and to My own Mp3 on my computer.
Works well but sometimes I get a runtime error xD
But it doesn't use a lot of ram so im happy
VLC for video, it plays nearly anything and it uses very few resources compared to Divx for example.
For audio I just use the normal Windows Media player if for some odd reason I'd play music on my computer, I have an mp3, mp4 and my cellphone for that.
Spotify or iTunes for music, VLC for videos.
Media player classic home cinema for movies and stray mp3s and Itunes for Podcasts and music

I use the software that syncs my music, videos and pictures to my Microsoft Zune MP4 player, it's easy to access all the music and to sync new material all I have to do is plug the device in to the computer.
Mediamonkey for music
I love it, keeps my music list organisable, and scrolling through songs doesn't take ages.
VLC for videos / dvds
And for mobile music: I use my phone (Samsung GT-S5230)
But im planning on buying an Ipod Classic 160gb soon

usually just iTunes but i feel like that takes up a lot of processes.
