it does work, but you have to leave the game and rejoin for it to update lol. S it is basically pointless.
Ive claimed my city, and I'll be online again tomorrow night to build

My speciality is badly designed cities and unhappy citizens.
My city has oil, so I'm probably going to try for oil tycoon and maybe go into high tech for the late game.
Still unsure on the focus of my first city. A friend of mine is making an industrial city, another one a casino tourist attraction. Going to see what void there is to fill so our region has everything it needs.
It's strangely tempting to make a city with a grid plan, which I absolutely detest.
Edit: Brother bought it just now (no idea why he's up at 4am, I guess my rambling about Sim City did it), he downloaded and installed it in less than 3 minutes. And I was taught to believe Origin was pure crap.

Yay, a Sim City thread about the game, no ramblers.
Bit depressed at the moment, no ones joining my region. /sadface. Other than that, gooooooood, no bad errors.

Hope they get it all sorted by next week, was thinking about buying this and making my own crazy town.
So I've played since EU launch, wasn't able to build properly until yesterday though.
So far I'm building a big industrial city, a educational city, and a residental-only city.
Still need to build the gambling empire and oil empire, but getting close to my first Great Work!
Just a question: Is it possible to change the ingame language, or is it Origin-based? It's in Dutch right now, but I prefer playing in English since it facilitates talking about the game in correct Sim City lingo!
Maybe someone can help me out. I've got a city that's just over 100k people. I make most of my money mining ore, and buying coal and plastic to turn into processors. I'm using streetcars and I'm getting about 95k riders per day, but I have huge traffic issues, causing my trading scheme to fail in massive gridlock. The problem, I think, is that although almost all my citizens are using the streetcars, my commuter workforce is driving. I already had a train connection, but they just get off the train and drive, so I plopped a double decker bus terminal and upgraded it to the max in the other city. I put a depot in my city with a park and ride near the train station and another near the highway, along with bus stops in the industrial part of town, let it run for a day and there was no improvement. I added as many busses as I could to my depot and make bus stops all over the city. Let it run for a day and... nothing.
I've got 700k saved up but I'm losing about 7k per hour. Anyone have any ideas?
I have the german retail, but I just installed it in english <.<
You only loose tax revenue, as long as your trade makes up for the difference, you gain money. As for your traffic problems, I have horrible problems with it too, but I ignore it. My factory, the recycling centers and the trade depot are just across the street from eachother, so atleast that is flowing.
And because there is nothing better than a sunrise in the shadow of my nuclear powerplant:

Trouble is my traffic is getting my trucks all stuck, so I went from 400k/month to -50k/month or something. Maybe I'll have to demolish my smelting factory and build it right next to my ore mine, and take down my trade depots to put there too. trouble is the ore is still pretty far from the train station. I hope I don't have to tear everything down.
Is there a region up? I can't find aikyo or sillysilly3 or mmo-c
I'm logging for the night. You can add me (ID=Dekadez), I'll join your region tomorrow morning
