A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again.
Or you know, you could try doing actual PvP for your cap, and not rando BGs.
Scheduled weekly maintenance caught me by surprise.
It is a very aggressive push to get people into rated PvP, simple as that. Imo Blizzard should have made PvP as a whole more enticing to all WoW players by improving matchmaking in random BGs to avoid the common and completely avoidable lopsided matches, such as matching X healers vs 0 or a full premade vs solo queuers, but most of all make PvP more enticing by taking the reward structure out of the time-gated casino that is the rest of the game at this point.
I am now going to take a step back and very seriously unleash my intelligence on the state of the game which will be trigger material for some, but here it goes:
What they should have done is reintroduced PvP gear in concrete terms, with two tiers: honor and conquest gear from vendors. When using PvE gear regardless of ilvl it should have roughly the same power as honor gear, with conquest gear being undoubtedly the best gear to use in PvP. Both honor and conquest gear should be mediocre gear when used in PvE, so that it does not interfere with the meticulously calculated weekly/daily gambling that is PvE now. This would allow for a separate progression that people can make in PvP, a separate timesink, that is far more linear than daily/weekly gambling while still being a timesink.
Separating PvE from PvP would pull PvPers out of PvE of course, god forbid all lost sub money that would translate into, and it would replace the discrepancy in power between players that raid or have high percentile ratings with a discrepancy between players that have either conquest or honor gear, oh the horror. People would also have to carry around a PvP set again, not just change talents every time they switch from PvE to PvP.
The point is that all this is a very small price to pay from a player's perspective for the opportunity for everyone to be able to get a full set of conquest again, with people at low ratings or people doing nothing other than battlegrounds simply completing the set slower. In fact, it would be a much more level playing field than it has been in years, despite all the smoke and mirrors of templates, scaling or deceptively coining a completely unrelated reward system "conquest", all of which were really only cooked up to facilitate the shameless casino that is now permeating all reward structures in this game, including PvP.
tl;dr Blizzard is spitting in the "casual" player's face and coercing him onto the ladders. What they should have done instead is draw more people to PvP in general starting with the "casuals" in random BGs, and then the ladders would have naturally filled up. Why doesn't Blizzard do this? because it directly clashes with the reward systems of PvE, which they unfortunately decided should include PvP.

I did arenas for about 3 hours yesterday and got capped.
/shrug
so am i the only one that likes this... I mean i get the vast majority of you complaining are pve pleb's but honestly.
they basically make the weekly gring slightly harder and add a weekly mythic plus chest for pvp and you swarm in like leechs and complain you have to do stuff without even knowing all the sources of conquest. because you want a chance at a nice item with pvp stats priorities on it.
go join a call to arms group and get 100 conquest for 4 minutes of standing there.
do one rated bg for another 100, that'll take like 30 minutes + at lower ratings it's mostly headless chicken groups anyway.
cap a supply crate for another 50.
that's 250 for like at most 2 and half hours of "work". Stop acting as if content not intended for you is flawed or counter intuitive because you don't like it.
I really don't see how this is a problem unless you win like only 10% of your BGs
Its not bad to get at all unless you are trying to do all of them solo on multiple alts. 100 from weekly quests, 40 for daily brawl, 40 for daily BG, 65 for brawl quest turn in, 35 daily 2s win, 50 daily 3s win, 100 daily for YOLO rbg and 65 for weekly epic BG win. The only thing they need to change is epic BGs resetting weekly when they should be daily, then you could easily cap without having to do rated. Right now every week you can get almost half your CQ cap every tuesday on reset for doing non rated stuff (warmode kills, daily bg win, daily epic BG win = 210 CQ)
Why do you feel so forced to cap Conq? If it is for the weapon upgrade, go do mythic dungeons, or heck buy one from AH that is higher ilvl? No one is forcing you to do anything, it is all in your mind. It is only a 345 piece of weapon.
I just dont understand why you are forcing your self to do something you dont want to do in a damn video game. It's not like Conq Cap is the ONLY way to obtain a new shiny weapon.
