Velen: I think your God may just be one of our Gods and you just don't know it.
Tyrande: Well, I think our Goddess may have crafted your Gods in her spare time.
    Velen and Tyrande: ....
Velen: Yeah, well...I'm just gonna go.
    Tyrande: Bye.

Velen: Your grandmother was a Troll, by the way.
    Tyrande: SENTINELS!!!

Song of Ice And Fire is great as a fantasy, but I think it's a little too brutal for all the good guys so I'd say Lord of the Rings is my favorite series. As for best author overall: Tom Clancy.

    Oh god. Tricky...

I'd probably have to settle with Raymond E. Fiest. As for his book series, I'd be incredibly torn between his Riftwar Saga, and his Empire Trilogy; they're both a fantastic set of books. Although I'd probably have to, if pushed, go with his Empire Trilogy; but then you'd need to read his Riftwar Saga anyway to get the full grip of the plot of his Empire Trilogy.

But yeah, Raymond E. Fiest. Empire Trilogy (Daughter of the Empire, Servant of the Empire, Mistress of the Empire).

Growing up I loved Gary Paulsen, his books really show how the average person can overcome any obstacle.
Now I would say (and it saddens me that no one has said this) Douglas Adams with HHGTTG as my favorite book.

    Erin Hunter: The Warrior Series
Christopher Paolini: The Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance)
Brent Weeks: The Lightbringer Series (first book in the series is called The Black Prism (excellent book) and the next one is called The Blinding Knife which comes out this September)
    J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter

    Harry Potter!

Read the entire series about 5-10 times, with the first 4 books being read about 20+ times each. I catch something new each time. It's an amazing series.
There are others I love, but this one is just the best of all I've read.
