Most op class at the moment

What is the most overpowered class at the moment?

  2. #2
I wish you people would stop making these types of threads, it's annoying and ridiculous. Base your decision on what appeals to you in terms of skills and playstyle, not what is currently a little out of the balance-loop. After all, if you only follow what's "OP" you'll be forever switching classes, because Arenanet will be striving to keep the classes closely in line, unlike certain other MMOs.

    They're all OP.

Forgot the name. It's something that can shoot fire doing ridiculous amounts of damage or can encase you in a block of ice before doing ridiculous amounts of damage.

    Warrior/Thief > everyone else > Ele

Thats a rough guide to go by. YMMV depending on your particular skill.

Right, because other games make it a point to create an unbalanced gaming experience.

    Guardian or Mesmer.

    Thief/Warrior tied for third.

Right, because other games make it a point to create an unbalanced gaming experience.
They don't publicly announce that as their design intent, but it follows a path of nerfing FOTM, and overbuffing the "underpowered" class(es) in an attempt to keep people cycling through classes/alts to get access to the "OP" classes.

This. Thieves/warriors lose to a good mesmer 100% of the time.

I've met plenty of people who feel that Elementalists are amazing and not underpowered. So... yeah, YMMV.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

    warrior, without a doubt.
then necro. then thief. Rest are pretty ok, they have strenghts and weaknesses.

    NOTHING is OP.

    Its all situational.

I can destroy certain classes on my thief, others will wipe the floor with me.

On my engineer I can 2v1 some classes, there was a warrior build I couldn't compete against at all.

    Mesmers trump melee.

Certain engineer/ranger/guardian builds can camp on a point all day and all night.

Everything is depends on many variables.

Overall OP? I would have to say certain Warrior, Guardian, or Ranger builds... Right now at least. Who knows how long the FOTM's will last in GW2? Only Arena Net.

Warriors are actually one of least powerful classes at the moment. Just because one build can do high damage doesn't make Warriors OP. The Warriors running round with Frenzy GS builds are easy to counter.

Your three most OP professions are pretty weird all together. Thief had two stupid builds but not OP again.

I don't think any of the classes are OP atm.

On my Sword and Axe / 2h Hammer Warrior i have trouble dealing with Necros and Mesmers.
On my GS / S&P Mesmer i have trouble dealing with Thieves and Rangers. I eat everything else alive.

I despise those Warriors rolling GS now. I will use mah 2h Hammer just to be different.
English is not my first language, feel free to point out any mistake so i can keep learning.

Mesmers/Guardians have counters for every class to be honest. A good Mesmer will just wreck people, regardless of their skill.
