I enjoyed playing rogue back in WotLK, it was easy, but still very interesting and fluid. How is it now?

I enjoy sub quite a bit, but find assassination boring as hell. Sub is all about timing to maximize every possible debuff and buff, and although it doesn't have a huge amount of buttons to hit, ends up feeling very well designed. I feel like a murderer waiting for the perfect moment to strike, biding my time, and then BAM! HIT EVERYTHING FAST AS POSSIBLE! Assassination is mind numbing to me. Rupture > envenom > dispatch > mutilate use cd's on cd. Feels very set in stone, and un-assassiny.
Combat is fun for me, but I feel like that's mostly because pressing killing spree makes me smile every single time.
No. I do not find them fun. Been raiding since vanilla and ive been faithful to the rogue. Not much longer. They really need a revamp rather soon. As stated a while back. It was more players playing retri pala than it was rogues all together. Which is a sign that something gotta give.
More or less 1 viable spec atm for singletarget and its 3 buttons after the initial setup. Most of the dmg is from autoattack and poisons. Passive.
Not fluid at all, at least not Combat and Mutilate. It's okay but I had much more fun in BC, WotLK and even Cata.
Shuriken Toss is a lame, not wanted ability - Anticipation should be passive and Marked for death would be okay, if the other two abilities wouldn't outdo it.
There are some flaws but at least its better than 5.0/5.1 (worst time ever).
What the? Shuriken Toss is great. I think a real major problem with rogues at the moment is that the final talents are SO specific to different situations that, rather than having to think about what one I want, I seem to just keep swapping them every 5 minutes to which I'd rather prefer at that time.
With Prep baseline and Smokebomb changes I can hold my own against rares, or kite with shurikens. As a strong supporter of Shadowstep, I actually LOVE burst of speed now for questing. Half the time I don't even bother mounting and just burn it round everywhere stealthed instead now, which is great for hunting. +Marked for death, with deadly momentum glyph are awesome for burning down trash and quest mobs easily.
I do think the last patch improved Rogues a lot. There's still a lot needed to be done, the rotations are still quite boring, but they're certainly more fun than they were at the start of MOP.
BASIC CAMPFIRE for WARCHIEF UK Prime Minister!
Would really love to get a go at rogue, but I'm unexperienced at the class. Anyone got some tips for starting a rogue in MoP? (at lvl 90 ofc)
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy soloing warbringers or primal devilsaurs just because of the ST, but I don't enjoy the ability per se. I don't think a melee should have such a range tool, we should have better cap closers.
Besides specific bosses like Horridon, I don't see much use in Marked for Death. Anticipation is awesome and the way to go if I don't need to do ranged damage. In PvP I just go for ST and never look back. In PvE I go for Anticipation 90% of the time. In a solo quest scenario the choice is interesting but besides that pretty meh.
No offense, I'm glad if you enjoy it and it really improved a lot compared to 5.0. But I think the Pandaria changes are pretty meh overall.

I love my class, and i can say it's definitely fun to play (maybe not that much in PvE, but w/e).
Atm i'm not maining it for guild reasons/agreements, but i hope i can keep the pace at least with LFR so i can play it again when 6.0 comes.
And as for PvE guide, the link is in my sig
Non ti fidar di me se il cuor ti manca.
pvp: can't tell
pve: NO.
Wow... I just noticed how clean and simple you ui is..... I like clean and simple, and not all that bright gody crap that everyone has. It even has a healer a layout for when I at long last start to level my priest. Yes.
Edit: Sidetracked.
@OP, Pve rogues tend to bore me to tears and then some. I generally do assassination because I find all three specs to be boring in pve, however assassination has the easiest rotation to me. I just need to watch my envenom clipping and I'm good to go.
In PvP a sub rogue with gear is probably one of the more enjoyable ingame experiences atm, however because of this rogue pvp has become very fotm and many rogues, myself included are expecting nerfs. I think they will hit ST, DT, and my worst nightmare, nerf Cloak and Dagger. Of course that wont really hurt arena play at all and really will make rogues make some better choices, but it will still effect rbgs pretty heavily since cloak and dagger is way way better there than shadowstep.

Honestly feel rogues have grown a bit stale. Been playing mine as an alt for a few years and it's now just kinda...bleh.
Look! Words!
It's completely subjective. Rogues are in a good spot at the moment; whether or not they're actually fun to play is for you to decide. I personally think it's a fun class, but then again I haven't been playing it for very long. I can understand that you grow tired of the class if you've been playing it for several years.
rogues are, right now, only for people who really love the class and have been playing it for a long time.
aesthetics are really bland. the blandest among all classes. they could look MUCH cooler without being "pally-flashy".
as far as PvE goes, it's a snorefest. 90% of their gameplay is to make sure your buffs are on so your toon can deal most of the damage by itself with passives. all the 3 specs lack identity and unless you play a lot, they all feel the same.
while I do not enjoy PvP much, it's a fact that PvP is much more dynamic, therefore rogues can be fun-ish in PvP since the chaos of BGs and arenas makes up for the oversimplicity of the class.
personally, I can't bring myself to play my rogue for more than 30 minutes a day. if you want to play something fun, roll a warlock (IMHO).

Warlorcs of Draenorc made me quit. You can't have my stuff.
rogue vanilla-cata. went monk in mop cuz i felt it was the "combo point system" i always secretly wanted. then back to rogue in 5.2
they did some good changes. even though in the beginning of mop, ghostcrawler said they were fine when clearly it felt lackluster..for me that is. im sure it had some good things too. monks just sort of satisfied my playstyle.

Hell yeah! (c)
Mb it is just me, but I`ve never changed my class since I reroll to rogue back in... BC
So no matter what, good or bad I still play rogue.
Rogue is really fun for PvPing but it's got to be the most boring class for pve. In 5.1 I wasn't enjoying the rogue at all but with 5.2 rogues have been fun to play pvp again and I feel like I can actually kill people 1v1 which not impossible in 5.1 it just seemed to take more work then other classes. Also 5 ambushes after doing shadow dance is fun :P
Rogues are really fun in PvP and okay in PvE in my opinion.
