There is still a chance it could become a cash shop item. After this event, Blizzard can and will go around and offer the mount and pet for money to anyone who didn't get a chance to experience the event, and people will eat that shit up.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope that the max level Molten Core is a solo scenario and not a raid. Or that it's just regular Molten Core with a 100% mount drop on Ragnaros during the anniversary.

It's not like they shouldn't have assumed cash shop, given what has happened in the past. It's Blizzard's own fault if their customers automatically assume stuff like that.
