Faster way to gear up in pvp?

I just leveled my alt toon which I consider my "pvp toon". He just hitted 100. First thing I did was to go in ashran and get enough bones to fill my work orders for Gladiator Sanctum. Now before I start doing arena, I want to get the blue pvp gear first.

What is the fastest way to do this? Battlegrounds, Arena Skirmishes or Ashran? What pieces to get first and in which order(of course I got the pvp trinket first that remove cc)? Brewmaster Monk with Mistweaver being my offspec.

    Thanks in advance
The trick of selling a FFA-PvP MMO is creating the illusion among gankers that they are respectable fighters while protecting them from respectable fights, as their less skilled half would be massacred and quit instead of “HTFU” as they claim.

You can have an entire set of Combatants gear after one afternoon in Ashran. No joke. Hit an event team, do the events, (which will also get you CQ up to your CQ cap) which are 250 honor each, and spawn roughly 3 times every 2 hours, and stick with the group when they kill rares. Turn the artifact fragments in (3:1 ratio for Honor).

Also, your first clear of each event will give you a blue lockbox that -will- drop a piece of Aspirants or better gear, sometimes two pieces. Killing Treesus (or Kronus) will get you a green box with gear in it, so will the Ogre.

I hit 100 on my druid, spent 7 hours in Asrhan (doing catch-up CQ gathering, as i had leveled her later into the season) and gained over 20k honor in that timeframe. By the time i left i had the entire Combatants set.

Thanks a lot! i didn't knew that events in Ashran drop lockboxes with gear. Is the chance on these boxes better than epic boxes from BGs? Cause I got around 10+ epic boxes from BG and only got 4 pieces of gear (3 of them was the same trinket...). I don't worry about conquest points yet, since I will easily get them in Arena when I have the blue pvp armor

Today I am going to do Ashran then, if the fps allow me to do (last time I joined a group for nemesis kills I had around 0,0001 fps )

as of this how did you deal with excessive honor? Are there honor vendors in Ashran? because I am not dare to leave Ashran to buy gear and then wait another hour to get in again...

Do events and rares in ashran, you will get a shitload of honor and a bit of cp as well. If you are alliance you might have to use group finder to find a good event raid though.

Yes there are honor and cp vendors in the base, you don't have to leave.

Single fastest and most fun way is still the old fashioned way of farming bgs with 4 friends imo. But that obv. requires friends to play with. Ashran is probably ur best bet other than that, as people here point out.

No, trust me, worry about the conquest points. If you're coming in this late in the seasons, your first weeks cap will be 8K or so. You can earn it all in Asrhan WHILE getting the honor gear and leave Ashran with 3-4 pieces of conquest gear, including the weapon, and Combatants in every other slot. The Blue-quality Ashmaul boxes (the ones you get from doing the Side Events in Ashran) -always- drop a piece of at least aspirants gear. Its USUALLY Combatants, and sometimes two pieces of gear (rarely). The green quality box you get from kill Treesus/Kronus and the Ogre always drop at least Aspirants gear and sometimes (30%ish) Combatants.

For this to work, yuou want to avoid the roadzergspamfest anyway. Find an event group, and avoid the main battle like it has an STD. Do the events, farm the rare mobs for fragments. Turn the fragments in any time there is downtime between events and you're just sitting around. You dont want to get killed and lose half of them - remember, each one is worth 3 honor!

as of this how did you deal with excessive honor? Are there honor vendors in Ashran?
There are both Honor and Conquest vendors in Asrhan. They usually stand right next to your general, unless the battle is at the last stage (and then they will move out into the courtyard with him). They are clearly titled (Conquest Vendor/Honor Vendor). You dont have to leave.

Im a little skeptical there. AVG BG takes about ~20 minutes and rewards about 200 Honor if you win (about 50-75 from kills inside the BG, and then about 150 from the win) with a chance at another ~150 from the box. So.. about 1000 Honor an hour if you win all your BGs (which you wont).

Youll get almost double that doing events in Ashran (the events spawn every 30-40 minutes each, and provide 250 honor) - roughly 3 sets of events/2 hours - so about 1500 Honor/hour base, plus most event groups will farm mobs and rares in between event spawns, netting 3 honor per fragment. you can easily rack up 1000+ fragments from just one circuit of the rares at Ring of Conquest + Madragoaster and Brickhouse... thats another 3k Honor.

Honor gains in Ashran are absurd. Ive been using them to buy the PvP heirlooms i didnt have already.

Now, i will say that doing BGs is a lot more fun. The Asrhan method is undeniably more efficient.. but you get about 30 minutes of.. sitting around waiting after one event cycle completes. In spam BGs at least you're always or almost always in the fight.

Kagthul yes, but assuming you win 95%+ of the bgs then I think it is the fastest way. Not to be elitist or anything, but I do when going with 4 friends and play for objectives. Obviously my friends in this case are rather decent at pvp in general.

A rag-tag group would lose aswell, making the process a lot slower. No denying that. Also as alliance we veto IOC and AV to dodge the queues.

If you don't like them, sure, but in general? Seems odd to me.
With the proper grp almost anything is a win for me, so it's the smart way to veto those with the longest queuetimes ^^

Unless he is horde, Alliance isn't winning any events unless its 4am on a weekday

I've geared out 3 level 100s and think I was able to win maybe a handful of events as Alliance. Trashcan honor farming is not even an option for me.

Many people here said good stuff. I'd also advise the coliseum garrisson. I think half of my gear came from there.

With the current conquest point mechanic, ashran beats any sort of bg farming strategy in both terms of honor and conquest points. Unless you can both cap conquest points and honor points in under 6 hours after dinging doing random BG's.

Somehow I'm sceptic to this being true for Alliance on my server... Horde literally is everywhere except for the mainroad which they gave up a long time ago. Since I'm on a rather "hardcore" pvp server the allies mostly only seem to be interested in the daily box anyway. People cap through arena when it comes to CP, not sure about honor though. But if you win all the events then you may be correct.

2v2 boost is the fastest way to get CP, nothing comes close to that. If you need honor too then Ashran

Ashram events is the fastest way.
You gain lots of honor, conquest, and boxes with gear.
You can achieve full honor gear in one day.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to agree, that Ashran is the fastest way to Honor up. (Conquest is still faster in Arenas if you're winning)

In an hour (approximately) You can get 1000 conquest doing side events (possibly an extra 50 if you do Ogre king, and kill Fangraal/Kronus). Also you get boxes that have a chance to drop gear. Also, you'll get 2000 honor during that time from side events. Now, if your group is also killing rares, fragments become a HUGE source of honor gain. In that same amount of time if you manage to pick up most of the rares you can get 700 to 800 fragments (possibly more). I don't know the exact conversion on these... I think it's somewhere between 2 to 3x, so for simplicities sake I'll just say 2.5x... so that's another 1750 to 2000 honor... possibly more than that.
