Assassination M+ cool down usage

Hey rogue,

How do you manage your vendetta/vanish when running M+?

Do you save them for specific big pulls or do you use them off CD? I am current doing the former and only averaging 14k dps while flasked at ilvl 370, I feel like the number should be higher for me.

Number would prob higher based on whether your actually getting poison Bombs or using the fan talent.

Also I guess if your wasting them on Mobs that are already going to die before your vendetta is finished.

I save them for things that NEED to die fast and bosses, blowing a vendetta/vanish CD on a normal trash pack seems very wasteful.

90% of M+ is killing trash packs and certainly so on Fortified weeks. If you're not using your CDs nearly every 2 mins you're just doing way less damage for no reason other than a gross misunderstanding of your role in the group.

Just make sure you have your CDs for each boss and use them any time a mob will live long enough otherwise.

It also depends on the CD length. Vendetta? 2 mins, yeah, don't blow it on the trash right before the boss. Exsang? 45 seconds, I use it basically on CD.

You could be getting 2-3 Vendettas in between bosses in most scenarios. Only reason not to use it is stupidity or laziness, or both really.

Cooldown 2 minutes. Average dungeon has 4 bosses. You finish your M+ in 8 minutes?

He wanted to be a smart-ass while not getting that "time between bosses is less than vendetta CD" does not mean that you take 2 mins between bosses.

You missread what he wrote.
Translation: Theres always more time beteween bosses then vendetta CD. Almost no scenario where you kill 2 bosses in less then 2 min and you wont have vendetta again.

yeah the only instance might be going from 3rd to final boss in Atal Dazar or King's Rest.

In Atal'Dazar depending on your route maybe you are just waiting for the bridge event, in King's rest there is only the Zul Shadow which in a Tyrannical week probably does not take more than 30 secs or so and 10 more seconds to pull the boss.


That being said, unless you wipe on Bosses because you are not having 1 less vendetta cooldown (which you shouldn't) as long as you get full value out of vendetta it is not worth any less using it on trash.

In the end you have to to do X million damage to finish a M+. The damage on bosses is not more valueable than on trash, it is damage that has to be done anway.

If you save a 1 second on trash it is worth just as much as saving 1 sec on a boss.

Only issue is if the boss is a dps check for you or if via dps check you can avoid a phase (2nd boss in boralus jumping to the ship another time etc)

Here are two follow up questions regarding vendetta/vanish on trash.

Normally on trash, I garrote 3-4 mobs depending on how close they are, then Fok/Rupture and Envenom. Now, if I were to Vendetta one mob, do I still want to be tabbing to rupture or do I just keep my target on that mob?

Also, do I also want to pair up vanish with vendetta on trash?

I tend to save my vendetta too much i think on trash. Using TB on cooldown on priority adds, but i tend to keep saving vanish for bosses, Even tho it would probably be back before i get to the boss
