New blood elf customizations are outrageous

I mean, aside from the fact that I haven't seen a black elf ever in any game/movie/book/etc. (now I won't act like ive seen, read, played everything so I could be wrong)...its just implemented so...wrong.

You can't just slap black on a white man and be like "there ya go, representation of race!" No black hairstyles? No black facial features? No black facial hair? Black people aren't just white people with dark skin. It looks extremely bad, and is a bit insulting rather than representative.

Similar skins were used for various Fel Blood Elves.

Forget about the black skin, what about the blue skin? No blue skinned men have that kind of hairstyles, either! Very insulting.

Or maybe you are just being a bit silly? Elves are fictional, you know.

Well, you don't know if a fictional race of humanoids would have: black hairstyles, black facial features or black facial hair, just because they can have dark skin.

The color won't come a different evolution beeing in a different place for generations, but from the sunwell, like every other high elf skincolor. So no other features would or should change. They are still the same people living in the same place with the same culture. They just happen to get a different skincolor from the sunwell.

Yea, but blue people aren't real so they can have tentacle hairstyles, black people (which blizz is clearly trying to make a slapstick representation for) are and already have certain features besides dark skin pasted over a white race. They are making the effort for introducing them for the sake of representation, they should introduce it right instead of saying "here's your black skin yay".

    Elves are real? Holy shit.

From the society of blue balled men, this is very insulting!

You know what the skin customization is being added for so I don't understand why you act so naive.
Black skin options came to the more races that more resemble real people for representation, but it was done quite horribly for blood elves. Sit on your high horse and downplay it all you want, nothing different from the real world and WoW I guess, "shut up black man".

Dark elves are cool, stop trying make a racial argument happen, its not going to happen.

Wrathion was a dark skinned elf before it was cool.

I never understood this need to feel represented in a videogame
This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.

Well, neither do I, but I guess since it's a game that allows you to build a character the more options you have equals more freedom for creativity, it's not like I know many elf chicks irl but I know many dudes that plays one.

You're taking a video game way too serious.

Dark elves are a dark blue/grey/black tone. This brown skin tone is clearly a crap attempt at giving black people representation across the horde's most humanlike race. It's funny you mention wrathion, as even his hair and facial hair was designed to be more representative of a person that his skin tone resembles, but nice try.

I don't think the various new skin colors really represent "race" in the case of Blood Elves. Just differing levels of customization as well as somewhat representative of Fel BE's we've seen occasionally. I think they look pretty decent, but this isn't a case of "representation".

I've had a massive problem with the human representation for years, considering all dark skin tones looked like monsters.

Dark skin color =/= "they are black".

    They aren't humans, they're elves.

Gee, I could never understand why someone would want to make an adventurer out of themselves in an rpg?

I really DC at this point more customization the better its 2020 the game is old as fuck, gameplay is not lore and even if it was so be it. Im more interested in enjoying the story and game-play rather than every minute detail. Of course would it be nice to have everything be 100% consistent and wateva? Sure but at this point ill settle for "that was fun, thats cool, i enjoyed that".

Also no idea why the fuck you think elves are humans??? Where are the black and white hairstyles for undead, orcs and so on>??? This isnt done for inclusivity its done for customization, the inclusivity is on the humans FFS.

Unless there's some face scan that makes the character look like me, it's not representing me.

I agree the black elves look weird and feel out of place. It's whatever if it makes some person out there feel included then that's a positive. This does feel forced at any rate for social justice type stuff.

I'll chalk it up as a change that doesn't affect me since I won't even be really able to tell due to people wearing armor and say good for those who wanted it.
