    4.0.1 Warrior PVP = screwed?

    please correct me if im wrong but i was told 4.0.1 was going to introduce the new talent system, and with the new sudden death talent changed to proc colossus smash, it will be no help at level 80 since you attain colossus smash at lvl 81. Execute was good right?

    Just by looking here and there a bit, you get a 5 second stun and "AOE" charge stun, i wouldn't say Warrior is screwed..

    Unless a lot changes within the next week, Melee in general are in trouble.

    It's going to be shocking for melee now that range has even more range, 40 yards? it's already hard as fuck trying to close the gap on some range now it's even harder, melee even now is the worst to pvp on so it's going to be a lot worse, guess I'll stick to my range chars and kite with my 40 yard range, mass cds and absorbs.

    Not having CS will put a hurt on our overall potential, but not as much as having ArP turn into haste. Sure, other melees will get hurt by that stat change as well, but each of them has a percentage of their damage as non-physical. We will catch the brunt. The good news is that you can get Gag Order now.

    I think prot pvp will be pretty decent if that's any consolation.

    Unless you're really into BGs/WG, rated PvP (arena) will be over a solid week before 4.01 launches. Will not having CS make SD suck? Sure. But, honestly, execute wasn't all that great to begin with. Substitute the damage a SD proc would've given you with a mobile Slam (just in case you didn't know, you can now use Slam while moving).

    Really, the change that's going to hurt the most in-between 4.01 and launch will be the removal of ArP.

    A 5 second stun isn't nearly as big of a deal now as it is on live, most fights last a fair chunk longer, and that's without resil

    Spell Cleave is getting a pretty big boost, there's no doubt about that

    Yep, on PTR at least all melee DPS has gone down a lot other then DKs I believe. Whereas all caster classes have gone up quite a bit. Which isn't any different with the domination of caster cleaves this whole arena season.

    warriors are usually bad at the start of an expansion, but ALWAYS ramp up to being the best pvp class arguably, just suck it up for a bit and rejoice later.
    Or just ignore arms and go prot since it will be retarded on 4.0.1 launch

    I see too many prot warriors, I guess I'll be seeing alot more and I guess I also need to make my warrior prot as much as I detest prot in PVP.

    Caster PvP in 4.0.1 shouldn't be that improved. All the CC mechanics (at least for Warlocks and Mages) was increased to a 2sec cast from a 1.5sec cast. So that half a second cast time will screw over a lot of CC which already had 40yd ranges (or close to it, like 36yd).

    I'm not sure what game you'r playing, cuz without resil (so with no PvP gear), pretty much anything is dead in max 5 seconds.
    But yes spellcasters get buffed a lot and they will own 4.0.1
    Stealthers might still have a chance however

    Aye, my DK's damage stayed about the same. Might have gone up a tad, but is about 6-7k on a test dummy, whereas on live I'm about 6-6.5k on the dummy. Not much of a change. I did some BGing with him on the PTR and honestly did rather well against the casters. They might hit hard, but once the gap was closed I was able to burn most of them down quickly. I was mainly using PVE gear (which on the PTR full 264 pve gear has more hp than most pvpers, even those with a lot of wrathful gear, just no resil)

    Then I see my friend get on his boomkin and is pulling like 2-4k more than he is on live, and my bros warlock pulling a few thousand more as well. Kinda imba at 80, but I'm 99% certain that by level 85 it will all iron out and be balanced again.

    I think this thread needs a bit of clarification, 4.0.1 will only last until 4.0.3 is released, and during this time no one can level past 80. 4.0.1's life will be relatively short(1-1.5 months).

    Beyond 4.0.3's release people can level, and I for one am looking forward to colosus smash and sudden death at 81, since everyone in beta said it's awesome.

    Even on live sudden death wasnt all that flash, i sometimes used the talent built that didnt use sudden death, and i still killed many people, you just get more rage for heroic strikes (which seems to hit as hard as execute if anything maybe a lil bit worse), with the new talent trees we do gain alot of new things (stuns, guranteed imp hamstrings, unlimitied rage for 10 sec etc.) but cause in LK we scaled alot with gear, we lose passive talents that increased our dmg by alot, such as attt, cruelty, axe spec, and impale applies only to certain abilties, im not saying we are screwed as arms, im just saying our scaling and tuning has fucked up greatly at lvl 80 give it time and we will be receiving QQs rather then giving them.

    All melee is hurting at the start in PvP. Thats what 85 is for. you cant expect them to try to balance everything for 80.
