Soloing Dungeons?

I'm just curious as to what content is "soloable" from BC / WOTLK now?

Has anyone given any of the raid instances in BC a try? Specifically, I was wondering about:

Black Temple
Caverns of Time: Hyjal Summit
Coilfang Reservoir: Serpentshrine Cavern
Gruul's Lair
Hellfire Citadel: Magtheridon's Lair
Karazhan
Sunwell Plateau
Tempest Keep: The Eye
Zul'Aman

I'm not sure how much I could solo as a Shaman - might be interesting to find out. - I solo'd a few of the non-heroic BC dungoens when I was level 80 without any problems. - Just wondering how far a well-geared 85 could go? - maybe a pally?

Please reply if you have personal experience, or know someone who has had success. I'm just curious.

any tank, and some others could solo heroic TBC dungeons at level 80, I guess any tank could solo quite a few of those instances,


I have only Solo'd Karazhan so far, I doubt Gruul is possible due to the healer and wayyyyy 2 much CC on first boss (the council), I am not sure about Maggy but i think a blood dk should be able to, a Hunter Solo'd Tempest Keep, I dont follow the solo'ers that much but I think Zul Aman shouldnt be to hard.

For Shammy, I would try (when full heroic gear) - Go Karazhan.. its the easiest one.

I can do most of those on my mage to some degree, should be far easier on a shaman.

Roll a blood DK, they can solo everything

A shaman in my guild does ZA and Karazhan every reset. I *think* he does most of Hyjal, too.

I tried tempest keep: the Eye on my hunter. But the first boss (phoenix) is pretty hard, If you don't have someone in his melee range targeting him, he does nasty aoe dmg. And he also summons an add you have to kill. So i'm try to keep my pet in range of the boss, and MD the add to my pet. It gets realy messy. I got him through that phase after a couple wipes but then he resses and goes to the middle, i was pretty much out of HP at that point so died shortly after.

Anyway, as shaman i guess you can heal yourself quite for some atleast, so you might be able to do it.

I've also done a couple of wotlk HC's solo. If you burn the boss down quick its pretty damn easy. Again as shaman with a couple heals to your disposel you should be ok in most of them. (don't know about the icc ones)

As a blood DK, so far I've soloed Mags, ZA, a couple heroic WOLK dungeons, but have been unlucky at the chess event in Kara, even though the bosses are easy.

The only other one I've tried which is not possible is Black Temple. The mechanics make it impossible for one person to get past the first boss.

I have heard of a blood DK soloing Gruuls, although I 2 manned it with a shammy.

No one can solo BT. The first boss requires another player to pull the spike out of you to shatter the shield.

Soloed Magtheridon and Karazhan, Hyjal is doable with two people for Rage Winterchill, otherwise can probably be soloed.

I just watched a video of a guy soloing Yogg-Saron as a blood death knight ...so pretty much EVERYTHING can be solo'd all the way to ICC 10 content by the right player ...I remember watching a video during WOTLK xpac of a rogue soloing many bosses in naxxramas

Enhancement can solo a lot of BC content. Other than the obvious things like maulgar, kael'thas, the second half of BT and SWP.

I did it this week and he never spiked me =\ however it still was an issue because you cannot pop shield but you won't get spiked if you maintanking him

As a blood DK, i can solo Mag's lair and ZA very easily. I could probably also do kara, but i suck at the chess event. I gave up after like 2 tries. It may be possible to solo Gruul's lair with really good gear, but its very hard due to the amount of CC

Lady Vashj can't be solo'd due to the orb mechanic.

As enhancement, ZA and Karazhan are a push-over. Chess event is insanely easy, basically just use the king, stand in one spot and spam heroism. When the other king approaches, attack/hero, your other figures will pretty much own the enemy on their own. Btw, totems are nice here^^ I always respec to resto, get into resto gear, place totems and then start it, considering healing stream heals your figures (1.3k every 2 secs:>).
Did BT with 2 guildies the other day (our death knight got the main hand glaive ) and I think the council is bugged, we wiped when they were at like 300k and when we attacked again, their health(s) suddenly dropped from 1.3mil to what they were at when we wiped, kinda don't think that's intended.:P Illidan himself is lol.
Tried Gruul's lair solo, wiped, invited a guildie shadow priest and it went smooth. I guess it could be soloed as enhancement with good coordination of wolves and elementals though (the first (group of) boss(es)), Gruul himself is easy.
