How can i stick to one character?

QUICK NOTE/WARNING: Yea this is a long post, please to reply if you didnt read all of it.. but if so it would be greatly appreciated! this post is all my opinion so if i say something i dont like about a class.. please dont have a go at me .it did take me sometime to write and any help would be amazing, thanks so much and yes.. i am VERY fussy.

    Hey guys

So this has been on my mind since i started World of Warcraft (4 years now)

I..... cannot stick to one character.. i'm a "altiholic" i ALWAYS level a new toon up every month.. its driving me mad!!
But why?? its cause.. well.. i don't know.. i guess i get bored of the characters i level up?

Now i have got at them moment.. 6 85s, yea that's alot.. i don't play A LOT.. cause i have to study and go to classes etc.
But i keep making classes that i really like.. but then i just get bored and ill start up a new toon. and i hate this!! i REALLY want to stay with one character and use him as a 'main'.

Now i want a Character that i can stick with as long as possible.. I want to do my pvp, my raiding.. and even collect achievement point. but im not sure on how to do this.

Iv thought of deleting my characters but one. But i really dont want to do that.
also iv tried moving to a different server and switching to alliance O.o?

if i had to change faction and server.. i would start up a new toon and only ONE toon.. i know it seems like a waste of time.. but i lvl really fast.
But what would annoy me is choose what to play.. I really want to raid (hardcore guild style) and i really want to pvp (2200 + arena/BG) .. yea i know how to do this stuff but i really cant pick my one. People say Level two different classes, One pve, one pvp..but i really like getting into achievements etc.

Now i have these classes atm and the reason why i don't really stick with them.. NOTE: this is MY opinion

Warrior - Cant stand them in pvp!! nerf nerf nerf every patch.. i dont tank which i do enjoy (sometimes) but tanking is not really me.. too much pressure.

Rogue - Love pvping on him.. but they dont really look like much fun raiding.. ?? idk what else to say really..

Druid - PvP feral.. fun! i do enjoy.. Raiding Balance yea still fun.. this is my newest 85.. and i get bored of it cause i have to gear all up again so i always change toons

Paladin - I just use this as my herbing/Mining toon.. dont really want to play it much.. i got a tank.. dps really looks horribly boring

Priest - Played him the most in wrath and a bit in cata Disc - Pvp (cause i hated getting smashed as shadow) and Shadow pve.. i dont really enjoy it.. its very .. idk how to describe :P

Deathknight - Unholy pvp frost pve.. same as druid.. i enjoy them, but i dont want to regear with 2 other toons pretty geard just sitting there..

Now i like being Range pve and Melee pvp.. I know im VERY fussy!! im sorry :S but i dont know.. i can go melee pvp if i enjoy it.

I know im really fussy.. but all i want to do is find one character i would love! and start fresh.. my guess is probaly go to different server and change faction? i dont know.. i would level up a character i got already if i do enjoy them.. probaly not druid tho.. i just lvld that up :S

Classes i would never play really would be Mage, idk why.. they dont look like my type.. maybe cause they too overrated?? if that makes sence.. i wouldnt play shaman.. dont like them.. hunters look ok.. but they do look boring. Warlocks.. idk.. cant think anything to say :P they look alright

What do you guys think? any tips, suggestions, advice or help? anything will help me alot!! i dont want to quit WoW.. this game is my hobbie.. i do it in my spear time, and i dont play it over important real life events.. Always remember real life > WoW

Thanks guys for reading all of this (if you did?) any help would be amazing

    Thank you!

Quick edit: I know i sounds like a said i dont play much.. but i do.. i play alot, i was just saying that i do focus on things like my studies.. and always irl > WoW.. other then that i play alot.. always can play raid night.. and got heaps of time of pvp and achieves

Have u ever raided seriously on one character?
For me thats the main passion in this game. It doesnt really matter what character I raid on, I can play any class.
Maybe u should find something u like instead of thinking of the class u play.
Also I would stick with warrior in PvP If I were u :P
Lvling toons to gather herbs and such is just nonsense to me.

Edit: If u dont have time for Serious Raiding nor PvPing I do understand why u level up new characters. Since the game ends for u when u reach level 85.

6 85s ain't really a lot considering how fast and easy it is to level nowadays you're saying you don't have time to play a lot, yet you want to raid "hardcore" and do 2200+arena/rbg... neither of those are suitable for your condition.

Yup, raided seriously on my priest back in wrath and have been on my warrior in cata, dont enjoy warriors much in pve.. pvp are quite fun at time. but i still want a class i can enjoy both pvp/pvp.. but yea i have raided seriously b4, i love the challenges of progression and i love the atmosphere side of it (can i use that word?)

Also, the pally was 80 anyways back in wrath, so i decided to lvl it up quickly to use for gathering hehe (crusader aura ftw!)

I have 4 level 85s - one that is my main toon, i do everything on this char first, all my raiding and good achs are on this toon - my mage
I have a "main" alt - which i play when i have finished doing everything on my mage - the other to alts i leveled out of boredom and they are used as proffesion holders for my main - though 6 toons isnt alt, there is a guy in my guild with 20 level 85s, ten on two different servers

you need pick one, and then whatever happens dont change, if you get raped in pvp dont say " im going to change" keep with it, learn the class inside out, same as pve, if you are dpsing and fall down the meters, stick with the class learn how to improve, dont jump to the flavor of the month

ok.. sorry ill rephrase that haha, i play A LOT!! i mean.. i can stay up till 3am every morning i play.. idk wat people call alot and and whats not much.. but yea, my apologies, i play a lot.. im just saying i do study etc. i play at night, so i can raid normal raid times.. and in between pvp

Well, uh. I dunno how to put this as nice as possible, but .. you're kinda contraditing yourself. A lot.

You say you want to raid hardcore and PvP to high ratings, but you don't have a lot of time to play.
You say you want to raid hardcore and PvP to high ratings, but you switch characters as soon as you hit 85 and the gearing up part begins.
You say you really like getting into achievements, but you have six 85s that never really got anywhere I assume.

You don't even sound that enthousiast about half of the characters you leveled, it just feels like you did so because you didn't have anything better to do.

Anyway, if I were you .. I'd stick to either druid or paladin. They can do all three roles (druid can even pick between ranged DPS or melee DPS), so you can vary a lot, both in PvE and PvP.

I have the same problem, as in I cannot decide on 1 class I wish to focus on. I enjoy most classes, and always lament what to make my main, at the moment it is a rogue, ask again in two weeks and it might have changed.

I dont think u will find 1 Character for both unless its a class that is Superior in Arena PvP.

    I feel you man
I've gone through many mains and am currently sitting on 9 lvl 85s

My solution is to have one alt for pvp, my rogue, and one for pve which is my druid
Seems to work out ok though i am thinking of ditching my druid for my mage or hunter so yea >.<

So why didnt you try healing in pve? I had the same problem then found a 10man guild with friends and got stuck into healing, loving it

    Sounds like me.

I've got nine chars over 70. Four at 85. Healers, tanks, DPS. Druid, Priest, Shaman, Mage.
I get very bored with sticking to one char. I loved my druid tank for a while but got bored. Levelling a DK, a Warrior, a Hunter and a Rogue.
Got a Warlock I never play and a Paladin I hate.

I tend to level them up, get the 31pt skill, have a bit of fun, pvp some and then switch.
I used to raid in BC and WoTLK but stopped and haven't started again.

Maybe you just need to start raiding or stop playing.
    That's likely what I'll do...

I an 85 of each class, but then again I leveled 8 of them to 60 in vanilla following Joanna's Horde guide.

Druid, Shaman, Hunter, Warlock, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warrior to 60 in Vanilla.

Those 8 from 60-70 and a belf Paladin 1-70 in TBC

Those 9 from 70-80 and a DK from 55-80 in WotLK

Those 10 from 80-85 in Cataclysm.

Do I play all 10 characters actively? Of course not. But it doesn't take long to stop needing dailies or dungeons on each character (especially since I get my all my VP for my main from raiding, and most of it on one alt from guild alt raids), and you move on to the next character. Now the part that will really make you think I have no life, is the professions.

    Inscription/Alchemy(Flask) Druid
    Enchanting/Tailoring(Spellfire in TBC/WotLK) Mage
    Alchemy(Xmute)/Tailoring(Ebonweave in TBC/WotLK) Warlock
    Alchemy(Xmute)/Tailoring(Moonweave in TBC/WotLK) Priest
    Jewelcrafting/Blacksmithing(Armorsmith in TBC) Paladin
    Jewelcrafting/Blacksmithing (Hammersmith in Vanilla/TBC) Warrior
    Leatherworking/Skinning (Dragonscale in Vanilla/TBC) Hunter
    Alchemy(Pots)/Engineering (GOBLIN!) Rogue
    Jewelcrafting/Alchemy(Xmute) Shaman
    Herbalism/Mining DK

All of those are at 525, but only the Mage knows all the Tailoring, only the Paladin knows all the Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting, and only the Druid knows all the Alchemy recipes.

Hm, Iam really happy that I never had this problem. I know someone one my server with the same problem. He can't decide wich class is the right for him. I think he has now 9 85's and his 10th is lv70 atm.

Hmm maybe you should think about the reasons why you choose this class you really want to play. If I think about my choise it was really stupid But right.
Before I start playing wow I played another mmorpg. (I start playing wow in march 07). In the other mmorpg I was a melee/tank class.
So as I start paying World of Warcraft I ask the guys which brings me to the game, which class is casting on range and die fast if hit. They told me, if I want this I should create a mage. And so I did. And if I look back, it was the best choise.
I still play my mage since the first day I play this game. I never ever had another main char, only twinks. Still love the class like on the first day.

So, think about why you would choose your favorite class :=)

Well I love lvling chars and I see no downside to it. Having fun is the goal? As for "main" it differs from expansion/patch/changes to classes

    I have 9 85s.

I chose my main to be Druid because it's the most flexible, being able to fill any role (it was also my first choice). I'm not huge on Druid PvP atm.. but that's okay. I get my PvP funsies on my Mage & Rogue.

Comments about the other classes I play: I LOVE Warrior tanking. So much fun. I love Hunter PvE because they're quite flexible, can help fill out missing buffs and put out the damage for both single target & aoe. Death knights & Mages are extremely awesome and flexible to me in both PvE & PvP. Easy to adjust to almost any situation thrown at them.. and it's always fun topping the charts when I play them in PvE. I like my Pally as Holy, but that's about it right now for her. I think Priest healing is the most interesting of all of the healers. Shadow is fine too, though not my favorite Dps spec because I like having a little more burst. In a long fight, they are quite awesome though. Shamans.. oh shamans.. this class could be so much more, but Blizz doesn't seem to give them much love. They were recently buffed as Ele, so that's great. But Resto mana is annoying right now. I enjoy Enhancement, but that's about it. Sorry Shammies. =( Rogues/Locks - I enjoy both of them in PvP, but I can't comment that much on PvE.

So anyways. I personally chose to focus on achievements on my Druid and just go screw around on alts too. There's nothing wrong with being an altoholic, and like someone said earlier.. it's awesome because you can have every profession covered! My current alt love right now is on my Death knight. I crafted the new axe for her, and she just rips things apart in PvE. I loveeeee it. ^_^
    I am a filthy casual!

I'd recommend Druid, you can tank/melee/ranged/heal.

That way you can forget about your alts.
