Wrathion's goals could be something we, the heroes, truly desire. It may simply be that it involves transitional periods we won't like.

Raw iron ore may want to become a sword, and the blacksmith promises to make it into a fantastic sword. The iron may be rather unhappily surprised when it gets thrown in a blazing fire and beaten by a hammer, even if it does become the sword it wanted to be. The blacksmith may not bother to explain, thinking it too obvious to mention, or the iron to dim to understand even if he explained.

I'd like it if Wrathion was that blacksmith.

    He is manipulator actually :P

He says "go there" - you go. He says "bring me xxx stuff" - you go. If next patch he will say "go farm 1'000'000 critters" you will mindlessly farm it. Am I wrong? Wrong?

GC even once tweeted that tho Wrathion was a shady character, he CONFIRMED that he viewed azeroth in a unique vision but the safety and well-being of azeroth was the best of his interests!
And I honestly believe no..Even tho previously I thought he'd turn out to be a villain incognito but come to think , he encourages us to eliminate the negative forces of evil on Azeroth , and rewards us accordingly..He is good at heart..and then , BLIZZARD CAN'T JUST POSSIBLY DOOM THE LAST OF THE BLACK DRAGONFLIGHT SPAWN like the rest of his brethren..

Hes a young whelp and his morals are not the same as ours. Hes like a "the ends justify the means" kind of guy. It doesn't make him evil or a villain. Very similar to the Titans actually.

Clearly, wrathion is a dreadlord all along!

I'm gonna go ahead and guess he's gonna be Me'dan's archrival.

So? I'm not sure you guys understand what an anti-hero is. Perhaps he does have the well being of Azeroth in his interests. However, the way he goes about doing that could result in us going against him.

One of the definitions of a villain is someone who is at odds with the hero. His view isn't the same as ours. He could easily become our enemy. I also have never said he should be evil.

You are correct, the lore for the bosses always indicates that the NPCs are accompanied by a group of heroes. That's not what he's talking about, however. Read what he actually said and keep in mind what we're talking about. Lorewise for the Legendary questline there is only one champion. Which very much seems to be the case, not that he's proclaimed every single player that's on the Legendary quest his champion at the same time.
The pen is mightier than the sword, especially if properly sharpened and in the hands of a well trained ninja.

He is definitely a villain or at the very least a villain in the making. He told his guard to break the legs of the red dragonflight. That's too much for a neutral character.

He has struck me as shady from day 1, due to his heritage and eagerness to align with the player's faction despite how he believes both factions need to work together. This was further developed as he requests us acquire artifacts of power, like the Lightning Lance or whatever it is called, then how he om nom noms the heart. He has good intentions at face value, but strikes me as untrustworthy.

Well, yes, there is much more that needs to be said... like how he "is the only black dragon to date uncorrupted by the taint of the Old Gods. "

Just because he is not corrupted by the old gods doesn't make him not corrupt.

He's a black dragon. When was it ever a good idea to trust a black dragon.

While I do think he's too much too soon, he has carried himself well in MoP. I want to see more of him.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?

Think Varys or Littlefinger from Game of Thrones imo.. My favourite kind of character

I'd really love it, if he'd become a major villain in next expension. They introduced the character quite well to nearly all players (so he's known such as Arthas and not "some dragon" like Deathwing). And when ever I talk to him I get this sence of: what's wrong with this guy? Why does he know all that stuff?
I'm always imagine that he redirects our focus on something so that he has time to work on his great plan.

I don't trust guys with red glowing eyes who are the offspring of someone who wanted to destroy the world.
Also, even though the game told us he came from an uncorrupted egg, I have this feeling off a Medivh/Sargeras thing when it comes to Wrathion.

Eh, you're right. Misread the post.
