I'm 100% serious. Genders are a lot like Pluto, if you don't have a serious definition for what it is, people are going to argue about it. Sex changes and gender identity are very complicated things with no real answer, but I DO know one thing about them: You can't change your genetic makeup. If we swap out the traditional male/female labeling associated with bathrooms and assign it to sex chromosomes instead, it would solve everything and put this stupid issue to bed once and for all. Sure there would still be the same nutjobs arguing about it, but they would have no legal ground on which to stand. Then we could move on to more important things.

I think it's a more complicated issue than many are willing to admit. For many people going to the bathroom is a very private affair. Some people feel uncomfortable doing it around strangers and/or around the opposite sex. It's all well and good having 'unisex' bathrooms with private stalls but some people just feel safer doing it alone or alongside individuals of the same gender.
