All just standard far right bullshit.

They deserve credit and the celebration and that release of stress I have seen from them and everyone else finally stopping this Juggernaut Idiot Trump Train.
You never "gotta hand" to the far right.

93% of them voted Trump this time, this is bullshit.

    Just like every Gop member.

No, they only care about themselves. Nothing misguided about them, they are all in it for either the money or the racism.

It doesn't appear to have budged. With the election called by the media, and today being Sunday, don't expect anything today.

I thought as much, but what little I gleaned from skimming past few pages of OT discussion about McCain it seemed like there was somehow some new doubt cast on Biden's hold there. Ah well.

In other related news, Melania is apparently telling Trump to give up "because she doesn't want to deal with fucking Christmas" she didn't say but I'm pretending she did.

Well, in her defense, I think it will mean more then just him conceding. I think, in her mind, she is telling him their marriage is up too.

Not really doubt that it might flip. Just worried that with his base going insane and if it did flip that work them up even more.

so how do dems escape the "defund the police" and socialist mantles
they cant just denounce it, because theyve all already have.
Is there any death row inmates they can go personally watch the execution of for political points ( bill clinton actually did this with a cop killer)?

Claiming dems were going to defund the police is like saying they're gonna take everyone's guns. It's complete bullshit meant to frighten people into voting republican.

If someone wants to believe something so batshit crazy then that's certainly their right. You can't reason with people that live and breathe right wing propaganda. What you can do is continue behaving responsibly and in time they'll notice the police haven't magically been defunded. Kind of like the people from 12 years ago that thought Obama was going to take their guns. Not only do they still have those guns, but they've probably added to them.

When 2022 and 2024 roll around there will be no evidence of police being defunded by Biden because it won't exist. If someone thinks their local PD isn't being funded properly they'll have to take that up with their local government.

We're now in the ~10 week lame duck post election period. I do not believe a "concession" will ever come, but even today in some subtle ways I think we've seen an acceptance of reality for the administration starting to set in. So maybe a better new thread would be on this lame duck period and what happens in it.

Specifically I think we're going to see less discussion on the court fight (which has not gone well and isn't likely to) and more on him "getting even" or doing as much negative as possible against his enemies before his time is up Jan 20th. How far he takes that may depend on what he's really thinking in terms of business opportunities for a post-Presidential life.

Iran in particular is where I would be really concerned of a flare-up between now and then. Either Israel trying to take action before Trump leaves office, and/or Trump doing it as a final jab before he leaves. Trump went out of his way to pick some of the most war hawkish people in the country on Iran in Bannon and Bolton for the top levels of his cabinet, and no one thought the Soleimani killing would happen. Mattis write about how he was so worried Trump would go to war with Iran he prayed every night. And there was a high-level meeting with Israel and the US today. Maybe nothing will happen, but it'll be an area to watch over the next couple months. And that is not even taking into account the arms flights from Iran to Valenzuela that are and have been going on for a few weeks, turning up the heat even more.

what the fuck are you even talking about? Defunding the police was literally never part of Biden's platform and people voted for him anyway. Changing how the money is spent is what most people support. Not outright defunding them.

Iran isn't stupid. They're going to hide under a rock till Jan 20. Yes, Trump could still launch unprovoked, but they're going to make sure the world is on their side for once.

"Changing how the money is spent" is literally what "defund the police" is supposed to mean. It's just a really shitty slogan.

It depends on the next Maricopa County drop... that should be on around this hour. ATM, it's irrelevant for me.

dont think trump would launch any wars, he had so many good opportunities to, he literally covered up an attack by iran on our bases saying "they just had some headaches" could you imagine if obama did that after iran struck our bases with missiles and seriously injured some of our troops, there would be 30 different investigations and 24/7 media coverage calling him a traitor. ANyways i think it has to do with the fact iran and venezuala are big alliances with russia, and in a biden admin they will suddenly claim biden isnt being tough enough on iran and venezuala and russia, basically the neocons and deficit hawks will make a huge comeback january 21st

I agree that, if he wanted to use a war to stay in power, he has missed his chance.

I believe there is still a chance, but lucky for everyone, just because Trump wants a war doesn't mean Trump gets a war.

Only extremists want the police completely defunded but the slogan itself was never meant to mean that. Reallocation of their large budget to other social services is the main goal behind "defund the police".

I agree that a win is a win. I just think it would add a little poetic justice to have Biden win the EC by slightly more than Trump's '16 victory. If only because Trump supporters kept insisting that was a "landslide" and then would have to acknowledge--privately, to themselves; never out loud, of course--that if that was a landslide then Biden did slightly better.
