I think I've pinned it down why it bugs me. It's so out of left field, often being the only word in that whole sentence/section that's in English. That and it only ever happens a few times. It's just jarring. Which would explain why RDR/ES's choruses (chorusi?!?!?!?) don't bug me. They're repeated often, and don't seem so "wtf was that? Did that have a purpose?" worthy. Okay Migari some corrections. When reading the active/Inactive list for members turns out they already changed Kangin to Active. So I was right the first time! There is currently 9 with Kangin being the 10th when he's rejoined. (Still makes me wonder why there is only 8 in A-CHA though)
Heechul is the other guy in the military, and Kibum is the guy who hasn't officially left but stopped doing anything with them to go act instead. Giving them 12 member total with 9 active, soon to be 10

Woohoo I found answers!
Between Mr. Simple and A-CHA is when heechul joined the military, and Siwon was busy filming a drama during the filming of the A-CHA MV so he's in the song, and in the MV for close ups only but not part of the group when you see all of them.
