Cross realm raids and porting

I have a question about the new xrealm raiding feature, maybe someone who has the new patch up and running can tell me...

It would be nice if we could use this feature to port to old raids, say ones that you are solo farming. So could I join a raid group with a Real ID friend, add another alt (from different account) into the group, pick a raid and get ported right to it (as patch notes describe), then have the Real ID friend leave group? Does this feature only work for cata raids, require full group, etc?

Edit: Herp... When I first read the notes it sounded like it would port you to your raid (like LFD) but looking at it again sounds like you still enter the raid manually. Admin you can delete
