Any thinking person does not ascribe to a specific party's beliefs 100% of the time. They approach each topic individually, on its own merits, and make a decision based on fact, not rhetoric.

Liberal and conservatives aren't the two main divisions of the political spectrum.
That dot center left, and rather close to Social Democracy (or democratic socialism), but probably closer to Liberal Democrats.

I find those tests pretty unreliable, as almost all of them have leading questions. I also particularly dislike that political compass test, as it refrains from offering a "neutral" option, and also doesn't really gauge how important a given issue is for you. That political compass test put me almost directly in the middle, slightly leaning left and just hardly leaning libertarian (like, in the decimals).

Of the ones I've taken, I liked http://www.gotoquiz.com/politics/pol...trum-quiz.html the most. You might get different results; I certainly felt it was more accurate.

BTW, that one puts me as a right, moderate, social libertarian. Which I find accurate.

Scored pretty much the same in both quizzes. I guess I think more right than most people here or anyone that takes the quizzes.

The only question I didn't like on the left quiz was the reduce military spending. Did it mean in a time of war, peace or in general? In a time of war I wouldn't reduce it.

Edit: I think more and more Americans are starting to become liberal/moderate when it comes to social issues, so that may be why there's a high amount of people in the bottom left quadrant.

the bible thumping scares off a lot of people that might otherwise be sympathetic tbh. i for one am wary of what i feel are extremist leanings, and economically the GOP isn't really different than demo's atm, which just leaves... yeah
