ETA: Chainsword might work with Romero-style zombies, but if you're facing a RAGE variant, the last thing you want to do is take a chainsaw to one.

Ryumon are nice swords. I own one it can easily slice through several coconuts and keep a sharp edge and they look really nice.

Though you may want to go with a short Wakizashi rather than a full size Katana. They can be one handed easier but still have the cutting power of the larger Katana.
