[Irons Maidens]

I searched and couldn't find one!

Do any of you posters write, read, or take interest in the art of poetry? This thread is for sharing and discussing works that you've written, read, would like to read, or need help writing! I know that quite a lot of MMO-Champion's posters have been through times both trying and exhilarating, and that many of us have feelings inside of us that we can convey best through the beautiful art of poetry. While posting, please remember that this form of writing is deeply emotion driven, and we are all here to respect each other in times both good and bad.

I will start off the thread with one of my own works that I recently submitted to the WPM, titled "Beauty Incarnate". The subject matter is a girl that I adore and compare to an angel.


The wings of an angel do tread ever lightly,
So elegant upon alabaster skies.
Rain from the Heavens is rain always sightly,
For a nexus of beauty never truly dies.

Proof may walk that benevolence exists in the soul,
The myth that is perfection is so close to true.
Where there is now a heart, black once took it's toll,
These are the deeds to define a personal hero with so much to do.

Oh, it is We who know that the Heavenly rain may be caught!
And thus, bottled into a union that remains free of taint.
No different than a droplet among leaves for which men have fought!
Songs of victory share a life with the pearly saint.

Beauty within remains a symphony of love's beauty incarnate,
As lichen from ash, a goddess grows from Heavenly rain.
To the victor goes the spoils of a life of no hate,
And the divine partner's promises of a life free of pain.

The hero bears a heart that is equally true,
Knowing that the warrior may survive to sing his tale.
A counter and twin from alabaster gone blue,
His songs are the steps to Heaven's peaceful vale.

Ode to Isolation

Sometimes I like to roam the land, my head full of plight,
Trying to clear the shadows, reincarnate the light,
To make me remember that the world isn't all bad,
To remember that I should not be sad, but glad.


It's a struggle sometimes, being so far away,
Surrounded by people, yet my mind seems to sway,
To still feeling lonely, even in a crowd,
So I hide myself away, wrap myself in a shroud.


Of isolation, keeping myself here alone,
I don't cope well in a mass, history has shown.
It's not that I don't like others, I don't work well in a team,
But somehow I just like being alone it would seem.


There's no harm in that, you can get by as one,
While others moan and complain, I just get things done!
Let them carry on, while I watch from here,
They can be visible - I'll just disappear!

Wow! I can relate to every single line of this.
I too find solace in isolation. Ever since I was very little and shunned by classmates, I've learned how to make do by myself. In a crowded room I feel like I lose myself to my own little world, and it's there where all my social anxiety goes away and I find peace. Thank you so much for sharing that.
