Well if you go into it with the assumption that it IS a single-player game, then it will be much less disappointing. (Unless of course you hate single player games and only want to play an MMORPGs.) The amount of content is okay, though there is a bit of grinding and lots of time-sink travelling that you wouldn't typically see in a single-player game (like Skyrim, for example).

Well for $50 you get 1 month free, and it has 150-250 hours of content. It's not like SWTOR though with grinding and time-sink travelling, however. It plays a lot more like a Dan Brown / Sherlock Holmes / Lovecraftian version of a single-player RPG like Skyrim. Though since it's new, there's still a reasonable number of players around (typical of an MMORPG) if you are looking for a more multiplayer experience.

Look around for deals. My friend bought GW1 with ALL the expansions for $20 a few weeks ago.

In the first few missions you really have to bust your balls to get the first few nodes/abilities to protect your villagers. But once you figure how to do that sort of thing quickly, and get a feel for crossing water/lava/etc, it becomes less stressful and more enjoyable

Resubbed to swtor couple days ago and getting my second alt to lvl 50.Prototype 2 is out soon aswell.
I'm sad because Torchlight 2 would be awesome to come out now to play at that month
I'm giving Skyrim another play through.
I never made it through the final campaign. I had the most expensive house in Skyrim (forget the name/place), and my wife randomly disappeared. Also there was a nasty bug where everything that you set on a surface it would fly off it when you left the building. After that, I just didn't log in for a few months. It was very disappointing since I was a thief that had collected a lot of loot.
But supposedly there is a workaround to that, so i'm giving it another go.
Tribes: Ascend and Civilization V!
If only Gods & Kings DLC would drop down in price at least 50%.
well, I played through all GW1 campaigns.. so that if you haven't. I also tried out skyrim again with a bunch of "immersion" mods like frostfall so you can camp and such. I tried tera but got bored, Im thinking about playing some "older games" again like dragon age 1 and 2, mass effect 3, tried mop beta..
Zelda games and pokemon on my ds or trying to clear out Demon souls but I always die and get mad and stop play in each 3rd month or so haha, Demon souls are arch eneimes lol. I also have watched a bunch of movies and series when Im not in mood for gaming :P
Gosh I hate the waiting for a game, this is going to be one long month T.T'

Even if it's not your thing, try Spec Ops : The Line. Oh my god, this game is such a mind bender, i can't even think of a witty pun to add. Great game, even if it makes you want to off yourself when you're done with it : |
Play city of heroes for a bit its F2p. I just started playing it again after like 4 years and its pretty fun, Im not sure how much your missing out as a free player tho as I had 2+ years of paid time from when it first came out and you can unlock stuff from time paid/stuff purchased, so I had pretty much everything unlocked.
Im pretty sure you only get 2 char slots.
Or pick up a new hobby, learn to draw, read latin, juggle, etc.......
Also,
Pornography is a pretty good time killer altho it may eventually wreck your life.
