Are any Republic Class Storylines truly worth while?

    So far I have
    Imperial :
50 Operative (Best Story by far imo) (9/10)
50 Assassin (Pretty good story) (8/10)
42 Juggernaut (Fail Story, this far anyway) (4/10)
10 Mercenary (Story seems mediocre and not compelling at that point at least) (2/10)

    Republic ;
16 Sentinel (Story seems non-compelling and forgettable so far) (1/10)

^These were for reference points of what I consider good storylines

Does any Republic class have a truly great story like Imperial Agent? Or at least a pretty good story like Sith Inquisitor?

See the thing is, I really don't care much for the aesthetics of the Republics equipment, or in the case of Sorceror/Sage I don't care for the fact that Sages only shoot little rocks and Sorcerors get cool purple lightning

I ask because I'd like to one day level a Sorceror instead of a Sage, A Marauder instead of a Sentinel, and so forth.

So the question is really : Are any Republic stories actually good enough to merit the unpleasant aesthetics, reduced number of players, etc. Or are the Republic stories all so mediocre that I'd not really be missing anything if I just rolled Sorceror/Marauder/Sniper and just space barred the crap out of the story the next time? Opinions?

Maybe rate on a scale of 1-10 what you thought of each Republic classes story like I did, with a 10 being quite possibly the best story of all time and a 1 of course having been terrible

imo no republic storylines can truly live up to the awesomeness that is the IA, and Inq storylines. Although I am enjoying the Sage storyline so far it just isnt quite on the same level as those 2 Sith storylines. Everyone has their own story tastes though

While it's a true point that everyone has their own tastes, any time a discussion of the best story comes up in general chat it seems almost unanimous that Imperial Agent is widely considered the best one, so yeah everyone has their own tastes but the majority is a good point of reference to go off of

Well your playing the right class in my opinion. I remember it starting to get really good on Tatooine. As far as republic stories goes it's most worthy of being called KOTOR 3. I really found the consular story boring in comparison.

The generalist looks outward; he looks for living principles, knowing full well that such principles change, that they develop. It is to the characteristics of change itself that the mentat-generalist must look. There can be no permanent catalogue of such change, no handbook or manual. You must look at it with as few preconceptions as possible, asking yourself, "Now what is this thing doing?" -Children of Dune

I didn't feel that any of the story lines on either faction were compelling at all. Still, it would appear that the Republic got the short(er) end of the stick here, as the general consensus was that the Empire had better stories. I don't see how anything could be worse than the Sith Inquisitor story, though...

If I had to pick, I'd say that the Jedi Knight story is probably the best on the Republic. It at least had the most effort put into it, and you get to do "important", "heroic" stuff. The Trooper is allright too, but it's a pretty cliche military thing, not unlike Mass Effect (female Trooper even has the same voice as female Shephard, of course that's a good thing imo)

Rest In Peace, World of Warcraft. Subscriber count doesn't matter, WoW has been dead in spirit for a while
Rest In Peace, Star Wars the Old Republic. SWTOR is a fun RPG, but a bad MMO

I googled the subject and strangely it seems that

Alot of people LOVE Sith Warriors story, I don't though... the whole time it's just felt like you're some Fatass darths little bitch errand boy do this do that do this do that... not interesting!

Alot of people seem to dislike or think Sith Inquisitors story is mediocre, but I thought it was pretty good.... lots of paranormal mystery and some humor mixed in

The google results generalizations on other classes include :
Bounty Hunter : That apparently this one is redundant and not that great
Trooper : That it is not that interesting
Smuggler : That it's fairly good, yet that the start is somewhat stupid
Jedi Knight : Widely considered to be great (But so far with my level 16 one I'm not seeing it)
Consular : Seems like a Love it or hate it thing, about half the people say it's the worst, other half seem to really enjoy it

Would any of you agree with these generalizations I read?

As I finished those 2 (and deleted the characters right after), I can at least comment on them - the JK story is definitely the one making you feel "starwarsy" passing through it, it has everything you'd want to have of a Jedi story when you always dreamt of being Luke yourself. Wasn't exactly the thing for me, but that really is personal taste.
Consular: I am with the hate people here I have to admit, story didn't catch me at all. After finishing Chapter 1, I had to force myself to go on really, which was the first time in any class story. Without wanting to spoil too much, I prefer stories building up to a grand finale and not having completely new plots form in between - that however is just my taste as well, so I think the 50/50 is very accurate for the Consular.

Yeah but I always more so "dream about being Anakin" myself >:P

Dark sides just more fun, and better looking. I think I'll end up doing Marauder/Sorceror regardless of repeating story... I'll just spacebar the hell out of it the next time.

Commando is a maybe, at least their armor looks good on either faction, Smuggler? Ehhhh....... I don't have much desire to play Sniper nor Gunslinger... in actuality I may never get a Bounty Hunter/Commando/Smuggler to 50, they just aren't that appealing to me actually

And that sums up very well why I did not like the JK all that much altogether
Working through Trooper still, as already mentioned here it is really military and if you can get something out of that, I actually find it rather decent (finished Ch2 and started with Ch3).
That brings me to a point where I have to say I found the Republic stories not so bad, some of the companions have really interesting backgrounds. Of course getting all the convo options going requires pampering, I did it for the legacy unlocks anyway so I went through them, and for some companions it was really worth it, even if the class story itself was maybe dull.

I'm loving the Republic story lines, maybe the consular not so much but thats because I've just departed from Coruscant.
In terms of Sith... sith warrior... I play light side and that makes it bearable, the choices that is. Inq, haven't tried yet, imp agent, hated it. Bounty hunter was ok considering your a bounty hunter.

JK is one of the best stories in the game. played IA, SW and INQ so far and really love the knights story. just hit level 30 but I know that will happen so I think it will get even better.

The enjoyment of star wars class quests REALLY depends on your IRL personality . They are all good stories and engaging but I loved the Jedi Guardian story only because it fits me . Some people would love to just play a evil evil sith and thats fine if that suites them ...personally I cannot stand working for the empire because I hate bullying in all forms .

Trooper was pretty, REPUBLIC FUCK YEAH, and I enjoy crushing Imps, so there's that. Jedi Knight and Smuggler are also pretty neat up to level 32 and 24 respectively.

you can be bully jedi as well as a merciful sith lord, the class story itself is not really good of evil, at lest the ones I played thus far.

Yes but there is a notable difference tho, Light side on the empire side still means kill em but just not torture them before that or something like that. Not saying the empire always kills...

Play them! - You dont pick up a book knowing the plot, start and ending - play what you think you will enjoy.

nah, thats not really my experience. first of all you kill plenty of people on both sides, and the choices are really the same, too. many light side sith choices involve sparing people or even helping them, its certainly not "Light side on the empire side still means kill em", but I have to agree that the dark side choices for sith are more "chaotic evil" while republic dark side choices are more "lawful evil"
not all of them, but theres a trend

In my opinion its pretty hard to write off a story without at least making it through Chapter 1. If you are going to give up on the story before you're even off the Faction's homeworld, then you're not really giving it a chance.

The Sith Warrior storyline is probably my 2nd favorite (I'm doing the IA storyline now, so that might change), and you are indeed Baras's apparentice. This is a story about rising through the ranks of the Sith, and you start as an apprentice. Your power and influence grow as the story progresses. In essence, this story is about the rise to power and authority. In order for this type of story to work and be appreciated, you have to start from nothing and work your way up.

The Jedi Knight is my favorite storyline, but really comes together at the end. It has good moments throughout, but is typically very cliche and I found it repetative. That being said, they have the best class storyline on Corellia as all their previous choices are presented in a meaningful manner. The finale is hands down the best I've played thus far, and bumps the storyline from above average to excellent.

    Nah.

I feel all the Republic class stories are extremely dull. Jedi Knight is okay in a swashbuckling sort of way. Though a lot of Star Wars mythos drags it down in unnecessary bullshit. Plot was decent, the rest was whatever-city.

That's a funny way to describe it. Made me laugh. =)
