Go to Google Translate, and pick a language. Find a word you like, like say... hunt, or bow, or something. Translate it. Continue until you find something you like.
For example, I named my hunter Cartographer. I got the explorer title. I picked that as a theme. I've got African themed pets, like Shenzi (my hyena) and many others. I used Swahili for the translation. So use like... Tooth, Claw, Spike, whatever you want. Originally Posted by Puck

As a bio postgrad I just use the scientific name of stuff for my characters (and hunter pets).
Pick an animal that sounds like it suits and use the genus name, for example mine is Acinonyx, the genus of the Cheetah.

^^ ...which is why i renamed my Loque as Artemis, since she is also a female huntress and no ordinary cat! after taming 5 spirit beasts, she's still easily my fav.
