New stretch goal; fossils http://playstarbound.com/stretch-goal-2-fossils/
Currently on $516,829, need $750,000.
"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance." Paradox of tolerance
Just read the info on fossils... PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for beta to start now
So I just pre-ordered Pixel Tier. I got an email, clicked on it and now what? How do I link the code to my Starbound account?
Terraria just got a forum update showing off some new features - hopefully starbound will be wise enough to take them over as well.
e.g.
* rain
* half bricks
* waterfalls
Fossils are cute, but we need alien fossils. Alien artifacts.
New technology to research to make our own equipment better!

That would be pretty mind blowing for a game like this, but not unexpected. Amazing how the world is in an economic downturn, but we continually throw money into nerd leisure. I would really like to see some sort of breakdown on what income levels are donating how much of this money and on other kickstarter projects.

$45 donated. If the time I spent on Terraria, and those 140+ hours of enjoyment mean anything asto how much I'll enjoy this game, $45 very, very well spent.

I'm very much considering pre ordering the Gold Package. Since my post asking about Terraria, I bought the game on Xbox. I have not been able to stop playing for the past few days. I really haven't gotten anywhere other than most of a set of Iron Armor, a Gold pickaxe and a Silver Sword and 118 Surikens and almost 1000 Flaming Arrows. I have my 6 lens, and am almost prepared to take on Eye of Cthulhu. Just want to get my Iron Helmet first.
Funny enough, I decided to go all Minecraft style and dig deep in the beginning. Got down to the Glowing Mushrooms and Underground Jungle. At that point I starting looking up "How to Get Started" tips and found that I was being way too ambitious. Yesterday I began clearing out the Cavern Level's and found tons of Gold and Iron and Silver. I'm sure plenty of people who played Minecraft first prolly did the same thing lol. The more you know.../insert rainbow
But I digress. Starbound looks absolutely fantastic. Very excited to pick it up, even trying to convince my g/f to get a copy as well. I really want to get the Gold Package and have a randomly generated Kathandira running around peoples games. I would love if one of my WoW friends ran into it. I'm sure they would flip if they saw that name in another game.
Heh, /vg/ Starbound thread is pure comedy. I'm hoping these guys are joking and not just stupid. Claiming the game is in development hell just because the map hasn't been updated, and that the lead dev is running off with all the money.
Also, there is already Starbound porn. I don't know why I'm surprised.
They're just all angry it isn't being released sooner. The dev said himself, that's one of the big risks one takes when you reveal a game SUPER early in development. Most games are in development for years before they see the light of day, they chose to basically reveal Starbound from its inception.
About $5000 away from the second goal, this is pretty exciting.
EDIT:Fossils Goal reached!!!!
EDIT2:Pets!!!
A mockup of what some in-game pets may look like.
In addition to the alien creatures you can capture and have fight alongside you as you travel through space, each player has the option of starting out with their very own customize-able pet! Each race has a choice of pets originating from their home planet that they’ll be able to customize through the character create screen.
They’re not quite strong enough to fight horrifying space monsters like their randomly-generated monster counterparts, but they make for lovable and useful companions all the same!

Has been in development almost as long as Duke nukem forever.
And it still did better than duke :P
Starbound should be fine.
It might be bigger than Minecraft if they handle things right.
I played Terrarria when it first came out on PC...I'm so depressed it isn't getting updated for PC anymore.
Good news then: http://www.terrariaonline.com/thread...-thread.96063/
Once upon a time, not so long ago, lived a generation of gamers who bought a game, played a game, and didn't expect more from a game.
An MMO, or games with continuing development in order to sell your more things via cash shops/dlc/expansions, I totally understand. Games like Terraria...I'm not sure why we pay $3-$10 and expect a never ending stream of updates. I'm not criticizing you, because I would also like updates with a lot of games, but I don't understand why we've developed that mentality.
But yes, updates are coming as someone else pointed out.
