    2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, 15 are not squares. They're 4-sided polygons, but not squares.

They also did not count the biggest square (I don't think), nor the 2 squares that surround 17-20 and 21-24.

Also, the shape that encompasses 1+2+5+6 is not a square, nor are the shapes congruent to 1256.

Oh lordy, I didn't actually watch the video, I just had it paused at the beginning of your link. xD

Deca is right, it's supposed to be a trick which seems to have worked very well.

That video is wrong. The question doesn't explicitly say the shapes are not collinear, so I believe we have to treat them as such (i.e. all the lines intersect rather than stack). Or am I just stupid?

A square is a square, doesn't matter if I draw a line through it.

They are squares. the shape doesn't make what Lyr linked, you can follow the line past where the other line intersects to get a square.
And continue to play the video, they do count all squares including the biggest

    17/36. 17 is like, 30th percentile though.

The small squares are drawn to technically be a part of the original square which are cut which then make the original squares no longer actual squares, its the reason as to why it's supposed to be difficult, it's basically a trick question.

That's not really good.. Basic math should be easy, it's not until calculus and algebra when it gets hard.

    ACT is junior math level.

I got in the 68th percentile composite, but I'm really stupid when it comes to math (and panicky).

All I read was "I, from turn-it-around-land, am too lazy to count to 40"

No clue what junior math level is or this composite. PM some examples and I'll look at it when I wake up again.

It's supposed to be a trick, theres no trick in simply counting to 40.

Sales for a business were 3 million dollars more the second year than the first, and sales for the third year were double the sales for the second year. If sales for the third year were 38 million dollars, what were sales, in millions of dollars, for the first year?

^^^ It's shit questions like that. Not only am I not good at math, but I panic very very very very very quickly, especially because we're only given a minute per question.

Probably just easier to link the damn site: http://www.actstudent.org/sampletest/math/math_01.html
