I actually like the ice levels in Mario games, but that's probably just due to the fact that the ice world in SMB 3 let you get the hammer suit, which is amusingly overpowered.

Yeah, unless they give you an alternative form of movement, like the frog suit in SMB 3, water levels are pretty terrible in platforms. Also, all cheep cheeps can go die.

That's tough, really. I've only played a few, but 7, 9, and 10 all have great stories. 10-2 sucked story-wise, as did 12 (to me, but it makes up for it in some ways).

I can't remember 7's story that well (sorry Frey), but 10 had I think the most plot-twisty moments.

I only played it once all the way through I think. As long as the games are, once is never enough to get a good grasp of the story. Plus, it was many amounts of years ago. (I actually have a copy of it though)

The RPG I played the most times through? Either Chrono Cross or Grandia 2. And Chrono Cross's story is so damn confusing, even I still don't remember a lot.

Only played through it once too. Not too familiar with it, other than the very broad "time travelers travel across time to kill beast that has been dormant for 65 million years". Plus, Chrono Cross is related to the story, so I get some info there too.
