I guess there might be such "skin" items, but the actual game now has more than tdm and you gain exp for stuff like staying alive / killing sprees, assists and you can then spend these to upgrade the classes, giving you "ability focus" things, which aren't implemented yet, don't ask me what that is, and points to:
A) Convert a few points of one armor type into another one.
or points to:
B) Reduce your armor, movement speed or max energy to increase one of these in return.

You also get titles and such.

But it's really not all that much like TF2. ^^

Sorry for the late reply. Went out shopping. It sounds like they've done a massive overhaul compared to what was originally submitted to GreenLight. Was no experience or points back then. I don't even remember the point trading thing being on the planned feature list back then.
