Yes, The Land Before Time is the series with Little Foot, Sarah, Ducky, Spike and Petrie.
However, if you haven't seen the original, you haven't seen the real The Land Before Time. The milking they did after that...was cute sometimes. It didn't fit the tone of the original at all however.
Mononoke is awesome, but I gotta convince you to watch some of the rest.
Do you like comedies, at all?

The "real" one is the first one. Instead of a campy musical, it's a rather dark but uplifting tale of the groups' journey to the Great Valley, separated or orphaned from their parents.
Dane Cook is mildly entertaining, but I need to get you into the Mel Brooks movies.
Those would be:
Airplane
Space Balls
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Blazing Saddles
Dracula: Dead and Loving It
History of the World: Part 1

I've seen the first one!
And that was a reference. I really need to keep Pend around for that kind of stuff.
Honestly though, Dane Cook was my gateway comedian a few years ago, the first American comedian I saw and I genuently enjoyed it. Later I moved on to Carlin Lewis but he was what got me into it, I guess.
Aaaand none of those either.
You should, then!
Spaceballs is a Star Wars/Star Trek parody though, more Star Wars than Trek, so without seeing the source material, it probably wouldn't be as funny.
Airplane, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Blazing Saddles are a lot more casual to get the jokes in, though there are a couple "in" jokes especially in Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
