This, so much of this.
I'd go so far as to offer to take her out to a lunch or something, and discuss things, try to do something, get her help, whatever you can.
I feel bad for her reading this story and wish I could do something. =/
Your brother can screw off, however.
Sorry but you are the very last person that should be trying to define what exploitation is, and regardless of what you have been told or read about anywhere, it is exploitation. It just falls under the guise of being something else, because certain people make a lot of money off the fact that it is in demand.
But far be it from me, to complain, I mean it is what it is, but you can't call one exploitation and another one not because it doesn't fit the legal definition and by that i mean porn.
This woman was violated and the act was immoral, that isn't what is in dispute, i am saying honestly it isn't that big of a deal this concerns adults, and she should mind her own business, unless she is honestly going to put this woman up. She might honestly make a bad situation worse.
That is repulsive!! Please say something to your brother, I know if my asshole brother were being a disgusting creep I would say something
im pretty sure this is illegal in most countries O-O

I do not deal with this type of law. That being said, in nearly all states within the US this would be illegal solicitation. Yes, this is not only abhorrent morally, but it would be illegal. If the claim is that the act is in Canada, than ill abstain from postulating the legality and leave it at amoral. While it seems pretty clear that the OP has fabricated the scenario, three things really surprise me about this thread (not in order).
1) That people REALLY don’t see why this act is disgusting morally.
2) The fact that the OP mentioned his brother was a gross 300lb man, like the attractiveness of the perpetrator should matter morally or legally.
3) That people think activities such as this are hyperbolic. There has been a rise of these types of solicitations due to the recession. Particularly
despicable cases occurring right after Katrina, Sandy, etc (natural disasters where people lost their homes or in some cases just needed gas
to survive).
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.
Revelation 6:8
'I am the very last person that should be trying to define exploitation' based on... What, exactly? My being Dutch? Having some understanding of laws and judicial systems? Being a human? What, exactly?
Also: There is a huge difference between porn stárs and people that are forced into pornography. Far from all 'porn' is actual pornography... Much of the smut you see in cheap porn movies (especially the eastern european ones) is, indeed, exploitation. Those people are victims, though, and not porn stars.
As for making a bad situation worse: Hardly. You see, that's what we've got laws for. They don't exist merely to stop the crime, but there are also procedures that help and support the victim. Procedures such as, for instance, finding affordable living space. Getting grants in order to pay for the child's education. Debt-relief. And more.
Yeah... It's annoying when you can't win a debate because you're holding abviously failing system 1 arguments.

Hmh. Where is the threat? I haven't seen anywhere she'd be under threat of losing the accomodation. She just doesn't have to pay so much now.
It is still immoral from him, I can agree on that. And I don't get how can he be such a dick with no conscience whatsoever. I just don't think it's as clear cut as you make it sound from the legal point ov view. It would really depend on where is this taking place... You can't classify it as rape, that's for sure. Sexual exploitation it admittedly could be depending on the local law and it's definition of sexual exploitation... It would involve a lot of word-games.
