    in holland you learn to drive stick or automatic, you can do exams in both but if you do exams in automatic you may never drive stick again. if you do exams in driving stick you can drive as both

    And that's the thing nobody tells you about your licence. Once you have it you have taxi duty for a couple of years. I remember when I got my licence I had to ferry my sister to freaking everywhere, as she is two years younger than me. It's cool the first few times, after that... not so much.

    Yeah, we have manual and automatic licenses here as well, and manual allows you to do both. However, with the provisional license (1 below full license) if you have held an automatic one of those for a year you can change it to a manual one without having to take a test.
