I wouldn't mind flying for my alts, being able to buy a heirloom book that teaches panda-flying just as they did in wotlk.

remove a small amount of exp required for the last 2 levels. they seem to drag on a bit
85~87 zones seems fine for me
I tend to agree with this. I run into so many people that can't play their class because of raf or the lack of time required to max level. Being max level should be something you strive for, not something rewarded because you feel like you have "earned" it. Think of leveling as training to play your class proficiently at 90. How many bad players do you see a day? I for one think leveling maybe shouldn't be longer, but there should be a competency test before you expose your ignorance to everyone else in lfr, dungeons, bgs etc. that is one aspect I miss about vanilla. Shitty players didn't get into groups.
If anything, it should be longer. Leveling is some of the most fun I have in World of Warcraft and the new storylines do a good job immersing you within the environment.
Just guessing, but... some BoAs, Guild Perks, some rested XP and the Monk XP buff... amiright? As impressive as that may appear, without all of the other perks, it still only takes a few days of playing to hit 90 and still work out the proffs. Leveling is just not the grind that it once was.
*Disclaimer - Incoming "Back in My Day" statement*
When I first started in TBC, without any perks or knowledge of rested XP, no BoAs, RaF, or SoR... it took close to 4 months to hit lvl 70. Took a bit longer cause I could not afford my slowass Nightsaber and training til almost lvl 42. Couldn't even pay for my epic land mount at 60 until 65, and I was 70 for MONTHS before I could afford flying.
Leveling these days is easier than it has ever been, even for unguilded, brand new, no main or BoAs, without RaF and SoR. A toon with 0 advantages could feesibly grind 1-90 in 3-4 days of played time. There is really nothing wrong with leveling in MoP except that people used to have to work for what they got until Cata came along and passed stuff out like a Socialist running for office People were pissed when he was removed. (i.e. - Goodbye Cata and Hello MoP).
I love the no flying until you are on alts like many have said, yes it's great in the beginning and the experience is nice but it gets old when you've already seen the zones and done the quests once or twice. It's like doing Vashj'ir more than once... sloooooooooooooooooooooow and painful.
To be fair that's clearly a monk: you get the buff which shaves at least a handful of hours off if you power level, and quite a bit more if you space it out over a month so you're never leveling w/o the buff. That, plus you can basically spam spinning crane kick from 1-80. A rogue w/o the experience buff and w/o aoeing at full health all day long is an example of a more arduous leveling process. Besides, some people would argue that the game is about the end game story, and that by the 3rd or 4th alt the leveling story has been told, memorized, and is just a grind; in that case 3 days or more to level each alt is still too long.
I completely agree. With the exception of that storytelling questline in Jade Forest slowing you down, you can plow through the first few levels no problem. Then the health pools eclipse your gear, you sit there whacking each mob for 10 seconds, and 4-5 hours per level feel like 4-5 years. Leave 85-86, then for each subsequent level maybe take an additional 5-15% off experience.
True about the monk stuff - still;
The thing I loved about leveling a warlock as my main (in vanilla bro) was that I could sell boosts to other warlocks for their mount. It took a shit load of gold if you got the mats yourself, but if you boost them for 1/3 or 1/2 the price, and do that several times over, you made your money back "quickly". Though, the grind for the Netherwing flying was quite painful with raiding 4/5 days a week, trying to cover repair bills, potions, flasks/elixirs

Reduce the amount of XP needed per level, specific to the 88-90 level range.. and bring back the automatic flight-path learning. Problems solved.
#FlightIsImportant
The problem is that even without heirlooms, leveling is quite quick owing to the XP reduction across the board. This punishes people that want to take their time and do the quests, and finish zone storylines.
I'm all in favor of a paid XP suppression which makes you gain XP at a slower rate. More choice is a good thing.

As far as the experience needed to level, I'll admit when I leveled my first toon to 90, it was a drag getting to 90. It seemed far too long an unnecessary to need to use basically all the zones to hit 90. However, 90s 2-6 were a breeze to level. The difference was the rested experience, and the way I changed how I leveled. I've been a huge altoholic starting my journey's with 5+ max toons late in BC, and then blossoming to the full 10 and then during WotLK. How I've always leveled these toons has always been the same, I just hunker down, do the damn thing, rested experience or not. And when it came to MoP alt leveling, rested is king. with it I can generally use all of Jade Forest, Valley of the Four Winds, and only do a partial Kun-Lai to easily get to 88 before I run low on rested. From there I park that toon and move on for a week or so working with another until the first is fully rested. I'll then generally do all of Townlong, and the very beginning of Dread Wastes(maybe 30 quests) before arriving at 90. Working my leveling like this actually allowed me to level toons 4-6 to 90 in about an actual week, with playing for a few hours a day.
Yea reintroduce unnecessary gating and drive away new players. Cool.
Leveling itself is becoming outdated(There are billions of other games that allows you to enjoy without all these grinding), and having to hit 90 feels like brick wall for new players(well you might disagree, but many potential wow players do)

You can't compare apples to oranges. Comparing World of Warcraft to a game like League of Legends is comparing apples to oranges. And even then, League of Legends doesn't even come into World of Warcraft's scope.
By the way, before you pull up League of Legend's playerbase, I have some fun facts for you.
As of March 13 of this year, League of Legends has 5 million active global players. A fraction of which probably even spends a dime.
