I just did this quest. And i looked at how that draenei insults naga race and wants you put a huge banner through its corpse. But why do the draenei are instructed to not do much against orcs?
I would like to see more of these not so noble draenei. Righteous fury fits the draenei theme. Not all draenei need to be pacified.
Also some can be should be arrogant, self-righteous to younger races.

Just goes to show that Velen is not the example of all Draenei. They can be quite the zealous individuals.

I would imagine that Velen largely pushes for things like mercy, understanding, and generally "being the bigger man (or Draenei)". But they're a people, so they're still going to have personal prejudices and personalities. Preaching can only do so much.

Draenei are meant to be the most 'peace loving' of all the alliance race, with the exception of pandaren, also because draenei are light worshipers, without all the religious rubbish to back it.

Still, you can still have a few rotten eggs.

The draenei should really share the blame for that seeing as how they lead the Burning Legion to Draenor and never warned the orcs about them.

Apparently its ok to lump all blame on the orcs because its so easy to do, but then to ignore the faults in races like the draenei for there mistakes.

And don't sugar coat it, the draenei did make a huge mistake.

When your race is cut down to 1/3 its population because the rest became demons and have been hunting you across the universe for thousands of years, plus your leader can see the future, it would be MONUMENTALLY STUPID not to warn your new neighbors about any of this.

The reasons as to why this didn't happen have been explained ad naseum. But people who have hard ons for the Orcs or Horde or hate the Draenei refuse to see it.

I dont even really like the Draenei, and it's clear that blaming them for the actions of the Legion is so stupidly biased.

Bullshit excuses are still bullshit regardless of how many times they are repeated.

The Draenei starting zones up through level 20 have a couple of instances like this. Probably the most notable from a lore standpoint is the outright execution of a blood elf right in the middle of Bloodmyst with a number of Draenei standing around watching. They can be pushed too far. Velen is not averse to using force when required.

the velen and nobundo short stories show a good picture of the draenei mindset. they have to really work at being so calm and peaceful, deep down they are just "regular people" with faults, prejudices, and quirks. and they tend to view other races as being like hyper kids.
