Can someone explain how the 2 set bonus works for Destro? I have tested it and the number of embers required to cast a Chaos Bolt stays at 10 with the bonus active and 10 embers without the bonus.

While Dark Soul is active, Haunt's duration is increased by 4 sec, Chaos Bolt and Shadowburn consume 20% less Embers, and abilities cost 30% less Demonic Fury.

Wow, so that bonus is even worse than it appears, not even one whole extra chaos bolt every two minutes. No wonder it sims so poorly.

It's actually not as little an increase as you'd think, especially considering that it'll be extra DS-buffed CBs *and* SBs. SBs in particular are nice, because you really want to cram in as many as you can into your most powerful dots, and their low cast time makes a reduced cost much better.
When you consider the total damage you do over the duration and average size of your CBs/SBs during DS, you will see it's actually not a very small increase. Plus, the price you pay is fairly small at 6 ilvl on two items - assuming you even have the TF alternatives, which many people won't (especially in 10m guilds).

Also you're stacking CDs during DS (racials if possible, pot, usable profession bonuses) to burst harder. With UVoLS you're generating enough embers to get more than just one additional CB/SB from that bonus. If you want the dps increase exactly, sim and compare with tf off pieces.
