    Tricks of the Trade

Just a question, i was googling and didn't manage to find an answer from a "reliable" source, so i wanted to post this here.
Does tricks of the Trade buff the damage our pets do or just the damage the hunter does?
Also sorry if there's a thread on this already.

TotT only affects the Hunter's damage, not their pet.

Not entirely true. The pet inherits damage buffs to the hunter.

That's true for some buffs, but not for everything. For example, buff from Jinrokh is applied to pet when you have it, not inherited. And damage buff on Heroic Protectors isn't applied to pet at all.
I'm not sure about Tricks to be honest.
Old Gods made me do it.

Tricks of the trade doesn't benefit your pet. Regardless of interactions with fight mechanic buffs.

cant trick non humans, only work with humans on your same party.

I think the word you were looking for was "players"... but yeah.

Even if it could be cast on a pet, it's still at most ~50% of the hunter's full DPS. If both the hunter and pet are doing 100k each (200 total) and a fire mage alone is doing 120k, it'd be better off on the mage even though he's doing a substantially smaller total. Even with SV/MM where the pet portions are smaller, it's still generally not worth it for a hunter to get it over a non-pet class.
