The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities.
Vanilla: Didn't play
BC: 9/10
Wrath: 7/10 Leveling was such an annoying thing to do during Wrath for me, and still is now. Everything else was fine though.
Cata: 7/10 Raids were good (Besides Dragon Soul, which was just a miserable excuse for a raid) but everything else was just annoying for me.
MoP: 5/10 Raids don't feel exciting anymore, too much dailies to do, asian theme isn't really for me.
Vanilla - Didn't play
TBC - 7/10
WotLK - 10/10
Cata - 8/10
MoP - Quit here, haven't bothered playing it.

Vanilla became worse and worse the more they became monomaniacally raid-obsessed. In the end it was all farming consumables and grabbing world buffs. BC's greatness was tempered a bit by the persistence of some bad ideas from vanilla (really, from content designers who carried grudges from Everquest). Cataclysm was so awful that I stopped playing for almost two years, and only came back because I moved someplace where it's too cold to do anything but gaming in the winter. MoP is amazing for leveling and quests, the world design is spectacular, but it suffers from many of Cataclysm's endgame flaws...the "no, u no can has" content design philosophy is really starting to drive people away, I fear.
The plural of anecdote is not "data". It's "Bayesian inference".
7/9 for all of them. (i never rate anything a 10 so my system is out of 9)

Vanilla wasn't an expac, but just looking at what it offered compared to the expansions, I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

You're right except for 2 things.
1. My name is spelt "God" not "Loucious-sama".
2. I'm not a man, because man is inherently flawed. I am in fact a being so far beyond your comprehension that archaic constraints like flesh, blood, time and consequently, gender, have no meaning to me.
I agree on the stupid damage and stat numbers
as for the ratings,
vanilla (9/10)
tbc (8/10)
wotlk(9/10) This is where achievements got in,(actually it was in tbc, but it was the pre-Wotlk patch if I remember correctly)
it greatly increased the options of things to do and reasons to do them.
cata (7/10) (Rework of azeroth was amazing on most parts!)
MoP (8/10) (haven't leveled trough pandaria entirely yet and haven't raided/pvp'd on lvl 90 yet either so I guess I cant really tell , but I like it so far!)
