Does switching between normal/hc still reset trash?

Quick q, I know it used to reset the trash if you switched the difficulty, but I can't remember if that changed. What's the deal now in ToT? Thanks!

It doesn't reset trash if you can engage the boss. Switching before Eregon's RP ended for example reset trash, but if you wait until he becomes attackable to do it trash won't reset.

Sometimes the trash does get reset in ToT when you change difficulty. Can't really see any pattern as to when it happens though. It seems pretty radom.

Your heroic raidID is set for the week while on normal it just records your kills so when switching from normal to hc its possible you enter another raidID. At least that's what I think is happening. Best to switch right away to avoid doing the trash twice

It seems pretty random now. Some bosses trash respawns some doesn't regardless of whether we have already engaged the boss a few times or not. Same thing was happening to us in last tier. So as bigbad already said: always switch difficulty before clearing the trash to the next boss so you don't have to waste time killing everything two times.

As has been said if you took the time to read it, trash will not reset if the boss you are on is currently attackable, in other words, you can hit it. So if you switch to hc while Durumu is still flying down, or while Jikun is flying around her platform, the trash will reset. Boss needs to be ready, so to speak. Trash will also reset if you switch whilst running back to the boss, you have to be at the boss and be able to attack it for no trash respawn.

Nothing random here at all.

That is definitely not accurate, or at least not the only thing that can cause a reset. We've had trash resets even when the boss was attackable.

Last raid we killed HC jin rokh. Started clearing horridon trash on HC difficulty. Killed 3 flying spirits. Switched to normal, nothing respawned, still had 1 more spirit to go before the big bad golem.

We had all Durumu trash respawning after switching from heroic to normal (and we did engage the boss in heroic before). Can't find a pattern.

Can confirm that, same happens with Megaera trash.

It seemed to happen mostly when there's a quest up ahead, like on Durumu when there was a quest there, we switched difficulty and it all just respawned.

If the trash is linked to the spawning of a boss, it will always reset if you switch the difficulty

From my experience the trash doesn't respawn if the boss has been pulled before changing difficulities.
