If I could never see your/you're and there/their/they're used in the wrong way again I would be very happy. I know it wont happen though. Than/then, accept/except, and others are annoying but less than the first ones I mentioned.

I have to agree with certain statements that some words can lose their meaning when overhauled to such a degree they lose their influence. However, there are words that I just find odd. Criticism? Beautiful word? Criticism on its own is relatively negative and in most cases will be deemed so. If you wish to give criticism in a positive manner, then one should use "constructive criticism" or "feedback" as to dampen the harsh term criticism can give.

On the other hand, people using the word "your" when they are supposed to say "you're", or as some other examples given such as "would of" do make me cringe aswell.

When I read criticism, I read it in the academic sense, the constructive sense. That is beautiful. I couldn't care less about using it to mean disapproval. So yes, I'm deferring to the minority here. You'll have to excuse me.

Actually, i don't even care that much about what people write on the forums at all. I mean, people really have to be allowed to say what they want, or atleast, that is basic logic in my opinion. :-)

What a person thinks isn't necessarily their opinion. It would be like saying "In my opinion, 2+2=4." It's not opinion if it's fact. What someone thinks is either a fact or perceived to be factual by said person.

I think it's a moot point bringing it up at all, because said people aren't going to be convinced on a forum anyway.

If someone says, "in my opinion, 6+6 makes 9!", the discussion is already a lost cause.

I agree. I really hate seeing "vanilla WoW". It has gotten so bad that I catch myself saying "classic ice cream" instead. Vanilla is a flavor and plant. Plain is quicker to type if you want to talk about an original version. Or just say original.

What you do there, is mixing up the noun Vanilla with the adjective vanilla.

As with so many other things, stuff has been around a lot longer than the internet community thinks to lay claim on it...

If someone says vanilla WoW that means nothing else than the plain version without expansions, since even with expansions it would still be original WoW

It's not about the usage in my opinion, it's about the over-usage of a term.

Like the term Murica.. It's overused and therefore annoying. Some 7 years ago, around the time of 2006 World Cup, the same happened in Germany.. Someone started to call it "Schland" instead of Deutschland. All of a sudden it became epidemic, and with that it became degrading, annoying. I hate when someone says it.
