I've tried this as a Frost dk, I being ranged like most of the other classes that do farming here, I didn't end up with over 4k, I think after an hr, I was somewhere between 2-3k but all the cloth I got went to my tailor's and my ores went to my jc/engi/bs's so other than selling the greens and the gold I was pretty low compared to others.
But I do see people making more via those mobs.
Aus Nate - I think the 4k is attributed to the sales of cloth and the other goodies. I could be mistaken, but spots like KW and GLH are improved when you use a multi-dotting/aoe tailor due the extra cloth foraging. I recently moved to a new server and choosing the toon to be a tailor has been one of the harder decisions for myself.

Does anyone know of an addon that would allow me to see how much gold I make per session. I used to have one but I am unsure the name. I know you can track auctions through bean counter, but I would like one that told me how much I spent versus how much gold I had incoming.
Do old raids, sunwell, black temple, ulduar, molten core, etc etc.
Nets a tidy profit every week without using the AH, it's not 100k's a week or anything, but it will steadily increase your profit margin, and it takes literally no time at all, maybe a few hours a week.

Go for the Zandalari Warbringers! I farmed them for round about 10 hours combined with the eel-pet dropt boss in Townlong. After i sold all the stuff the outcome was 25 - 30 k. Have fun!
I read this post about a week ago and decided to give the Potion of Luck thing a try. I farmed the vale for keys and after 3-6 potions per session (4-5 evenings total) I made roughly 35k Gold. I have an Alchemist (transmute master), Miner (smelt) and a Leatherworker (575) for magnificant hides. I sold various greens, and I have a shitload of enchant mats that I cba to sort through. There are probably faster ways to get gold, but this had me out of a major city farming which was kinda fun... especially with a longterm goal ahead.
Farming is not that bad when it's rewarding.
I like slaying tons of mobs, and the trillium from the boxes supplies you with weeks worth of living steel transmutes.
If you do this on a tailor you can also whip out 1-2 full pvp sets for every class with the cloth youll get
What am i supposed to be farming in the vale? The sha mobs hit too hard to pull more than a few groups on my ret, and they dont drop much.
