Ability to change answer on polls

I don't get why we cannot change our answer on polls. Reading a poll thread can sometimes change your opinion about the issue. Being able to update makes the poll more accurate? Makes sense?

That's like me voting for X for president and then reading about what he does once he's in office and me wanting a redo. You should be informed before you make your vote.

Although Im a hypocrite and don't do this myself, but I'm stubborn and don't easily change my mind.
