Do foreign leaders get Motorcades and Secret Service Protection in the United States?

    Here's a curious question I have:

The President of the United States is protected by the Secret Service and is escorted via motorcades, does the same thing applies to foreign leaders when they visit the United States?

In other words, does foreign leaders get Secret Service Protection and Motorcades?

There are some Secret Service personnel involved (on the ground and behind the scenes) with the security of high level foreign dignitaries and leaders. As for motorcades, I don’t actually know. I would guess yes.

Don't know. I guess foreign leaders would have to come to Indiana for me to tell you. Then again why a foreign leader would come to the state of Indiana is beyond me.

Foreign Heads of state get Secret Service details.

Other important foreign people are protected by the Diplomatic Security Service.

As for motorcades, they probably either bring them with them (like the US President does) or use vehicles kept at their embassy for such purposes.

Many countries do not use motorcades as they draw attention, I will use this little anecdote as an example....

PMCs in Iraq are often tasked with protecting VIPs, US and British companies have very different ideas of how to do things however. The US company will usually have armoured vehicles in a small motorcade that are armed to the teeth, the idea being to discourage attacks through superior firepower and armour. The British will usually have one car that is often an old banger that blends in with local traffic, the idea being that if you look like everyone else you probably wont get attacked.

Motorcades are really only for show. The day to day travel of politicians is surprisingly more mundane.

The correct answer is that the dignitary's nation will provide their own security personell, and they will liason with the US Secret Service who will provide support. As for vehicles, it is the responsibility of the dignitary's government to provide those. For big nations they'll have a fleet of vehicles at their own embassy. I guess smaller nations just rent some SUV's or hire some limos.
