Does anyone else not care about their internet privacy?

I just don't get why people are making such a big deal out of the NSA and companies collecting data on what you do and what apps you use. Why do you think the government is the bad guy and is out to get you? They are trying to protect you by weeding out the bad from the good, and to do that they have to collect data on everyone.

So to those against data collection, why?

A lot of people share private information over the internet, and it is unconstitutional.

I don't mind practically, the NSA just knows my porn history. It is a matter of principle though.

Also it's been proven that the NSA is a worthless waste of money.

Will sum up every post after this one with

    "cuz mah freedumz"

and most people don't read their subscriber agreements when signing up for internet or data services.

Because the number of times I watch porn is my business? And if they do enjoy knowing my masturbation rituals, they could ask and I'd flip on the webcam and give em a show.

I dont know why people single out the NSA when private corps do just as much damage, if not more, with their data collection and sharing. Read an article about how one company sold information to another that encouraged identity theft...

Governments should be administrators to help our lives, not authoritarians that monitor them.

Because I'm downloading illegal torrents D:
But nah, I don't really care at all. If one terrorist act gets stopped due to it it's well worth it imo

You never had privacy on the internet. There is always something/someone tracking you for some reason or another.

If you don't care, why not post all your personal data here?

So NSA scanning your business is not cool cause they're government.

Yet all the various Hacker groups are considered cool even though they do the same thing...just because.

What I find funnier is that people think this is something new and exciting too. NSA or some equivalent has been covertly monitoring communications for decades. At least you know what they're going to try and use it for, unlike Facebook or Google who use your personal information for profits.

Because despite the whining, people likely still trust them more than random people on an internet forum.

You are not the one deciding what is allowed and what is not. Things can change and information like political opinions and sexual preference might be grounds enough to arrest you in the future if someone that wants to abuse it comes into power.

It might not be an immediate issue for you as a person but the dangers of surveillance and spying goes further than just " i have nothing to hide right now!".
Said the above in another thread a few weeks ago about the subject, i do not mind it on a personal level right now but the above could pretty much sum up why i am against mass surveillance by governments and companies on a fundamental basis as its dangers goes further than just my browsing history if looking at the long run.

This is the winning comment regarding the NSA crap. Period. +10000000 Internets for you.

But yeah I think the OP is trolling. Those that sacrifice a little freedom/privacy for security deserve, and will get, neither.

Corporate espionage. I know that most people associate the shit the nsa does only with watching pictures of your dicks on your whatsapp.

People who continue to drop that completely irrelevant quote shouldn't get anything either lol...

If you got nothing to hide, what's the problem?

Not caring is a bit loose for me, but I definitely don't care as much as the real privacy nuts of the world.

I do care about government surveillance, but that is more a matter of civil security than it is about privacy. If you can't imprison me unreasonably or steal my money or ruin my reputation, I really don't care what you know about me.

I don't really care that much. I assumed it's been going on for a long time, and will continue to go on for a long time.

Seems it's just gotten cool to complain about it lately.

You should be ready for the fact that everything that you're putting to the web becomes public. So it's pretty stupid to think that internet privacy even exists.

Probably since so many people download illegally, I pretty much stopped since streaming became mainstream.
