    The one face syndrome

I'm getting increasingly worried that the old faces will be lost. Even if it is beta, why would they bother making all those different wrinkles, if these are just placeholders? There need to be distinc differences, otherwise the old characters will be just like female pandaren, complete clones. I thought the main thing about this model revamp was to keep the SPIRIT of the originals. My spirit will be totally lost, if I start to look like every single other character in the game.

Why are Blizzard not commenting on this, even when players keep asking? If this is not done right, then the whole revamp is pointless at least to me, and I was expecting it so much.

    It's beta.

There you go. And these are ALL still in progress.

You can find vanilla races with customization far more limited than the races of TBC, Cata, or MOP.
It's contextual and it's circumstantial. Pandaren are based on bears, how many bears do you see with facial structures distinct enough to warrant multiple models. Markings, scars, ornaments, and hair styles, and color should have been there focus, and it was. Goblins had just as much customization as vanilla races, and even had more in Beta I'm not sure why were removed.

    I don´t know wether or not it will make it to live WoD, but check this out which is also on the front page atm ;

To me the new models look way better than the old ones, and I´d bet they aren´t even done with any of the previewed ones yet.

Still not really sure why everyone cares so much about what their face looks like. Not really sure why people would stand around staring at their own faces all the time. Also, it seems most people go for the most attractive faces anyway, very rarely have I seen over the last 8 years people who choose the ugly faces, if their faces are even exposed at all. I understand people wanting a model revamp and all (which still matters less to me personally), but to me it's the same as the countless people who seem to cry over the crater in SW not being fixed...who stands there staring at this crater or at themselves? Be happy there is finally something new to begin with.

The point is that they do care. It doesn't matter why. In a game where people pay a monthly subscription, and not get what they want out of it when the game makes changes, they have every right to point it out and complain. As long as the customer cares about something, it matters.

They are not commenting on this because they know its inadequate. They are hoping on these guys :

will keep sating this until it's too late and we will be stuck with one face per race and the face options will just change the wrinkles.

Yes the models look better (IMO I think they are fantastic) BUT it is totally unacceptable we get one face per race and the face option just changes the wrinkles.

I really feel so sorry for you, but maybe you just like playing a glorified slot machine with a side of paper, rock, scissors rather than explore and exist within a virtual world with a character who has emotion and reactions. You could be down in the World of Warcraft if you wanted. People like me for 9 years do sit and stare and watch our characters living in the world of Warcraft's lore, this game was designed with us in mind, it's why the majority of dev resources go to the game's art department, and we care about it more than zooming all the way out to get your beloved carrot on a stick just to get your carrot on your stick that let's you get the next carrot on a stick until you one day realize there is never going to be a carrot for you to keep. And "cry?". Stop and smell the roses and enjoy the journey on the way, or leave people to their own, as to each their own.

You should probably just sit and read your combat log all day. I'll sit and look at this.

    Living out experiences like this.

Sitting back and periodically experiencing states of perception that are illegal in most western countries doing things like this.

And you can enjoy your fonts and numbers.

It's beta. I did refer to the OP, actually, it's not even beta, beta hasn't been released yet, and after it's released we still have at least 4 months of beta, alot of time to make new faces.

I think you're wrong. Why would they do different artwork for each face if they are strapped for time to release WOD and this is such a huge task?

Even if you're 100% right who cares? Its better to be vocal now then trust them and have this as the end result.

What part of this is not commenting on it, knee jerk little cynic? Or are you just ignoring it and being an intellectually dishonest little spin doctor. Maybe you're not little but big. Your glass is obviously half empty, and you seem to feel proud of it.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt given that WoD is still in beta but the new character models better have distinct faces and customisation options or I'll be bitterly disappointed.

Call me whatever you want I don't mind I just want the models to be the best they can and I don't think painting the same face slightly different is good enough of Blizzards high standards of quality.

They never said they are strapped for time. Show me one quote where they said they are strapped for time. Telling us resources and time are finite is inot saying they are strapped for time. This is a canard perpetuated by chicken littles in the community with knee jerk end of the world bias over everything who twist and contort context into the most sinister spin possible. You're apparently one of them. Keep ignoring everything to the detriment of reality so you can exist in that romantic little world where you're the unrepresented and unfairly treated little man who the big mean faceless corporation manipulates and get's away with it because everyone else lacks your privileged insight into the "truth", you're the star in your own little story.

At least you're out there, calling it as it is. The little man, fighting the good fight. While we sheep bleat and bleat, victims of our own mindless faith and confirmation bias. No projection here.
And of course, as part of the sinister corportate conspiracy and hype we're all buying into, this was just another lie to keep us sedated in your Orwellian dystopian Wonderland of Warcraft you star in.

That said, we’ve also read your great ideas and feedback about features that you’d like to see as character customization options. Your collective voice matters to us, and we’d love to bring some of the coolest ideas to life someday if we can. We’ll continue to share behind-the-scenes information with you in these Artcraft pieces, and I look forward to giving you more insight into our plans for character models beyond the initial release of Warlords of Draenor.
But he said "if". You got him there. Murphy's Law cannot be acknowledged, qualifiers are just indication of a back door so they can lie and lie and lie. Because dance studio.

Ok thanks for the wake up call no need to let the jimmies get rustled. Words of wisdom aside....

Hypothetical question; If nothing changes and this is the end result would you be happy with how the screenshots an how they've gone about the multiple faces work?

WoW would be an even better game with a million more Yigs playing. You tell em, Yig.

You realize the original models only had flat drawings for individual faces? Textures? There has to be a compromise here of some sort, but they're working on it. They've acknowledged it.
