You are grossly overestimating how many people actually care about the no flying. They are a vocal forum minority, which certainly is not representative of the entire WoW subscriber base.

With all of the other excellent features that WoD brings, it is all but guaranteed that WoW will see a rise in subscriptions, at least at WoD launch.

They've released tons of software, long before Blizzard released anything..

EA started as early as 1982..... Blizzard started in 1991...
EA's software flagships are Sports titles the likes of
Madden NFL series
NHL series
FIFA series
NBA Live series
etc....
Certainly they cover other genre's as well.... Like the SimsCity series..

But their sports game series laid the foundation of their market position.

Fuck, I've played Madden NFL already back in the days on the Amiga.. At times when no one had a damn clue what/who Blizzard even was.
