And this is the only thread ever where I don't disagree with Mooneye
At the end of the day, animals kill animals and we are top of the food chain right now.
If anything due to our intelligence as a species we can use methods of killing that are less painful or faster, most people don't really give a shit though.
there is a theory that we are as smart as we are because of a large amount of meat in our diet from when we were primative man....the idea is our body or our hearts can only supply so much oxygen to so much of our body specificaly organs ...in order to digest vegatable matter we need larger intestines which means less available for the development of our brains ...change it to meat we need less intestine and we have to apply reason and problem solving to be more efficient at catching and killing animals allowing the development of our brains so going against this may cause us to stall or de evolve
p.s. i may have crappy grammar but i am no fool

I suspect they'll even try to deny how ridiculously unsustainable and damaging the rate of meat production is in the world...

I guess I'll humor you for a second.
Let's say that the world does, in fact, continue to populate at an equal or greater
rate than it currently does. And let's assume that all occurs as you said about
needing more meat and the like.
Thing is, we don't need all of the land you're proposing. Not one bit. See,
we can grow beef, pork, chicken, etc in a lab. It's safe (so far.) It'll just take
humanity adjusting to the idear of eating lab-meat. (Which might take a long time...)
That actually brings up a point... vegans, I have a question. To those of you who
are against meat because of all of the cute animals dying, would you eat lab-meat?
If not, why not? I'm actually really curious now. Please and thank you.
Why do we pave over trees and meadows for our comfort? Why do we pollute the air for our convenience? Because we are human, and it is in our nature. If nature didn't want us to consume meat, we'd have evolved differently. Again, the only reason a vegan diet exists is because of our overdeveloped morale. The benefits of that diet are nullified by the downsides.
Meat alone does not cause cancer. Charring it can. Seasoning it can. Same with vegetables.
Sooooo... has anyone been converted yet or are we all just getting a laugh out of this?
