Ground Target AoE spells no longer restricted to character LoS?

Haven't verified it with devs yet, and haven't tried it with healing ground AoE either.

Does anyone know if this is working as intended? Definitely will make arenas interesting if it was...

Most open world terrain doesn't block LoS. Try it in old world Nagrand Arena instead.

    Hills aren't subject to LoS.

The inconsistent LoS rules in this game really annoy me.

Oh, this tree which I literally could not see over/around/through is not LoSing me, but this step on this stairway that I can clearly see over is.

Things like Hills/Trees/Fences in non-instanced areas aren't affected by LoS iirc.

It is mostly so people can't just cheese enemies in the open world by constantly LoSing between Trees and such.

    Makes sense, but still annoying

I'm honestly surprised people don't know this. This was something I figured out long before I hit max level on my first character, I thought it was obvious?

Really? Most of it's obvious to me and didn't take long to figure out when I started playing the game.

I think you will find he didn't mean it as though he couldn't figure it out, just that the way it was done is frustrating.

Also, they said they are trying to improve the pathing logic for eg, Heroic Leap and Blink so maybe LoS issues might be lessened as well.

I guess I never noticed it for Ground AoE target abilities in open world. I know single target abilities could go through stuff..

It's just world terrain not correctly blocking LoS.
