I played a mage for 7 levels, then made a warrior and have played her for the last 8 years.
I have alts I play around on, and level up. Not raiders. Very rarely pop them into a LFR, because I can not stand that cesspool.

Played a rogue as a main through vanilla and half a year and a bit more in tbc. Made a paladin with the mindset of raiding as a prot paladin in TBC. Been my main ever since.
It was super quick for me. During my 1st contact ever with the game i checked character classes that i loved in warcraft 3, so Grom and Arthas which mean Warrior and Paladin, pick warrior eventually. I played a little, then take a break until very late vanilla/start of tbc. When i return, again as a super noob i got big problems with leveling warrior, which was really hard back then imo. I read somewhere that hunter is very easy class to level and i give it a shoot. I played hunter entire tbc, but after i learn more about game i return to finish leveling my warrior and i knew that it will be main for next expac. And so stay with my warrior since end of tbc until now, where i consider switching mains again because class changes in wod for warrior are just dumb.
Didn't have a main until Wrath when I rolled DK. Been my main up until now where I am rerolling Resto Sham
I started as a Druid, then at about lvl 20 I got tired of the goody-2-shoes stuff going on there so I rerolled a Warlock, stuck with that throughout most of BC. About 3 quarters in BC I rerolled a Pally and at lvl 50 I did not like it so I rerolled a Priest and stuck with that till Firelands. I then Choose a Shaman and stuck with that till a couple of months ago and then rolled a Hunter.
Been a Hunter ever since and will be leveling it in WoD
Shadowpriest in vanilla.
Warlock in TBC.
Deathknight in Wotlk.
Still play my Dk the most, then warlock as an alt. Priest is almost untouched.
3 I think. Had a human mage that I leveled to level 6, then a blood elf warlock that got to 28, and now my blood elf hunter which I've had since the begining of 2008
I was a happy warlock for several years, then MoP happened. Since then I was jumping between Druid and Rogue until I quit.

None. Priest was my first char in vanillla and is still my main today.
That said, I took a 5 year or so break and didn't play TBC/Wrath :P
I didnt have a main until 4 months into WoW
Had a Dwarf Warrior as my first char, kind of ditched him when he got to level 15 or so. Shame I deleted him now.
Had an Undead Warlock which I also deleted, got some screenies of him.
Had a Night elf Hunter which I still play now but only as a PvP character.
Then finally my mage who I love to death, I tried rerolling when MoP came out but I couldn't bear leaving all the hard work I achieved on that character. So I stuck with my mage. While I been playing the game 10 years this December it isn't until April next year when my Character officially reaches 10 years old.
I love Warcraft, I dislike WoW
Unsubbed since January 2021, now a Warcraft fan from a distance
I've had the bad habit of picking a new main with each expansion.
Vanilla: human paladin
BC: dreanei paladin
WotLK: Tauren druid
Cata: Worgen hunter
Fortunately I've stopped the madness and stuck with the Worgen hunter through MoP and intend to continue him through WoD.
I keep switching a lot depending on my mood.
Vanilla: Started leveling a troll hunter but switched to an Undead Rogue who became my main.
TBC: Changed server to play with some college buddies, rerolled an Orc Warrior. Transferred my Rogue later on and played them both equally
WotLK: Undead Deathknight
Cata: Orc Shaman
MoP: Back to my Warrior.
WoD: ???? Haven't decided yet. Waiting for beta access or to see finalized class changes. Probably Shaman or Warrior though. Hard to not play an orc.
My first character was a shaman, but about 2 weeks after hitting 80 I leveled a paladin and has been my main since.
People don't forgive, they forget. - Rust Cohle
Priest 2005-2009, Druid 2007-2013, Monk 2013-Present
same
but i have 1 of every class ...11 90's, but my dk is my main, my rogue is my second ... healing shaman/druid tied for 3rd,.,. rest are tied,,.,.,. monk last(boring)
ORC number one obviously cause they are cool and are meant to kill opposing noobs
undead / tauren tied for number 2 for race pref
My first character was a warrior that i played and raided with through most of TBC switched to my mage toward the end of TBC and she is still my main now. 6 90's (2 mages, warrior, paladin, hunter, rogue- 88 shaman coming as well) now but the mages are what i still play the most.
2? before 3rd being my main?
(Vanilla) Alliance Human Paladin, then Alliance warlock
(The Burning Crusade) Blood Elf Paladin -> Stuck with it since, all the rest of my characters are just alts.

Let's see...
Started in 2006. Made an Undead Rogue, got it to level ~8 or something before deciding that the playstyle wasn't for me. Then made a Tauren Druid, got it to level 16 and got bored. Made an Orc Warrior and I've mained that ever since.
