So while there may be no direct causal link, that doesn't give you carte blanche to go light up and then drive.

    Correlation does not = causation.

Studying car accidents in Virginia Beach, Va., during a 20-month period ending in 2012, researchers randomly sampled 3,000 accident-involved drivers and found no evidence suggesting those with marijuana in their system were more prone to accidents, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report released Friday.
I mean hell it even says it in the paragraph that you tried to butcher to make your point.

When researchers controlled for factors such as age and gender, they found no evidence marijuana use increases accident risks. This was despite the fact that, in the study, drivers who tested positive for marijuana use happened to be involved in more accidents.

However, there is still that link. Wherever it comes from. Maybe weed smokers are, in general, less attentive while they drive or something (regardless of THC level).

You need some experience to see what's good weed, and what's not. In general, watch out for branches and long leafs. You want to avoid both. If you see a white crystal like structure on the bud, it's of good quality. Usually you want to buy weed that's still on a bud, no crumbs.

There are no real brands, but different strains have of course their own names, like Haze.

Coffee shops usually have strength indications on their "menu", and if in doubt you can always ask the person working at the shop. They know it all inside out.

Snow White, which is a 5 on a 10 point scale of highness, goes for 9€ / gram. Stronger weed / more exclusive weed goes for up to 16€ / gram. Usually, 10€ is a good price. ( Some places in Amsterdam are considerably more expensive)

Study says there is no link.

You say there is a link.

I used to smoke it. I quit for a couple of reasons.

    A. It just wasnt fun anymore
    B. I built up a tolerance so it took more to get baked.
    C. It was costing too much.

One could say the same thing about video games as well.

I quoted the first study you linked, which stated that while the marijuana consumption did not appear to cause more accidents, the marijuana consumers in the survey were, on average, involved in more accidents than those that did not consume marijuana.

That would imply that there IS a link between marijuana consumption (or marijuana consumers) and driving accidents, even if it is not as obvious as "smoking weed makes you crash more".

Again right before the sentence you posted was this sentence.

I smoke weed like maybe... 5 times a year? It's very rare for me. I usually do around the holiday season closing in on New Years. That's when most of my college buddies are around, I like to go full force around new years lol.

I find it's a great stress reliever. Makes me calm, sure everything is funny but at the same time my mind feels so open. Pretty awesome feeling. I did walk up to a truck once and whispered, "I know your secret... Optimus Prime.." Lol.

I say legalize it, obviously put some limits and stuff, but I feel it's pretty safe compared to other drugs.

Used to smoke it made me highly inefficient in anything I did. I was a lazy fat slob along with 90% of the other pot heads I ran with. Speeders are much more fun when used in moderation ESPECIALLY when playing WoW. Take some addies next time you raid do bgs/arenas its pretty awesome.

This is the thing that some people don´t seem to understand. Just because someone smokes weed doesn´t mean they´re stoned 24/7, i know quite a few responsible weed smokers who light up on weekends instead of going to a pub to drink.

Therefore I feel like I should question the validity of a blanket statement like "weed does not cause more accidents". Because in that very study, they found that weed consumers are more likely to be involved in a car accident.

I agree with not allowing the use of cannibis while driving or driving while high, but many studies like these can be nothing more than false possitives since detection can work for up to a month. So knowing if someone was actually high or not can be a bit more tricky.

Honestly sounds like something my friends would do normally.

And to those complaining about the smell of cannibis, edibles rid of this "stench". But as with anything else, be sure to use in moderation. One bad trip can really change your perception of cannibis.

I don't smoke but I don't care if people smoke it.

As long as it's treated like alcohol (ie no driving etc) then I don't care.

I was hanging out with some friends that were smoking it, and the headache I got from just being near them put me off even trying it.

I'm against weed but this is just you trying to say correlation=causation. Correlation does not imply causation at all. Example: Casinos prefer to have (cigar/cigarette) smokers because smokers are more likely to engage in risky activities (like gambling). IE smoking is correlated with increased gambling. However I don't think anyone ever would argue that smoking causes you to gamble more.

Basically while MAYBE weed is the cause of them being in more car accidents, it's equally possible that weed smokers have something else in common that makes them have more car accidents. More studies would need to be done.
